MLB DFS: The FC Insights team shares their top home-run candidates for the day’s slate
Every day this season, our team will share who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. We’re calling it the “Dinger of the Day”. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
Today’s Picks
James: Nelson Cruz – “Matthew Boyd has allowed 54 home runs over his last 245 innings of baseball. Nelson Cruz has a .575 SLG against LHP and has gone deep three times already this season in just 13 at-bats. I keep barely missing my home run calls and this one gives me the best shot to get on the board today.”
Zach: Luis Robert – “The White Sox are as complete a team as it gets in baseball right now, and Robert has an excellent matchup today against Dunn who really struggles vs RHP. His 7.32 xFIP and 2.2 HR/9 in the split lead to me to want to invest in the White Sox offense today, and the reverse-split nature of Dunn’s resume to this point make the RHBs extra appealing. Even though Robert’s struggled at times vs RHP in the K department, he has plenty of power to take advantage of and could go off for a big game here.”
Jared: Jose Abreu – “He went deep for his second round-tripper of the 2021 campaign last night, and has a fantastic matchup today against Seattle’s righty Justin Dunn. The young RHP for the Mariners has really struggled to keep the ball on the ground in his first go-around at the MLB level, and Abreu has 150 of his 200 career long balls against RHP. He has a .510 SLG% in the split for his career and a healthy .221 ISO as well.”
