MLB DFS: The FC Insights team shares their top home-run candidates for the day’s slate
Every day this season, our team will share who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. We’re calling it the “Dinger of the Day”. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
Today’s Picks
James: Keston Hiura – “Trevor Williams allowed a home run every 3.6 innings in 2020 and in 2019 that number was only slightly better at 5.3. Keston Hiura has only seven career plate appearances against Williams, but he has taken him deep three times. Williams recent splits against RHH are not pretty, allowing a .344 average and .708 SLG% last year.”
Zach: Jared Walsh – “I have no issues riding the hot bat of Walsh here who hit two home runs last night. Walsh has a .462 ISO and .430 wOBA against right-handed pitching”
Jared: J.D. Martinez – “Michael Wacha gives up a ton of fly balls and does not have overpowering stuff. I expect the AL East to wreak havoc on him this year, and Martinez has started the year on the right foot. He has 165 of his 239 career homers against right-handed pitching with a .225 ISO split. Lots to like here for a powerful righty that is rarely overmatched and has as good a chance as anyone to hit the big fly.”
