NBA DFS Rundown for DraftKings and FanDuel - Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays & Strategy for each NBA DFS Slate on DraftKings FanDuel DK FD

The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – February 25, 2021 (2/25/21)

Welcome to the NBA Rundown for DraftKings & FanDuel contests on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

We have a six-game slate on tap for us this evening. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Please note that players on DraftKings have multi-position eligibility. Remember to always keep your eye on the news as the day progresses as NBA news changes the slate frequently.

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving – It is hard to ignore Irving with Harden right now as Irving is playing just as high of minutes and attempting just as many shots over the last two games. With Harden taking over the point guard position, we aren’t getting as many assists out of Irving, which caps the upside but is reflected in his price right now. Irving has attempted 22 or more shots over his last two games and is still averaging 46 fantasy points per. If you don’t want to pay all the way up for Harden, Irving is still a great way to get exposure to this Nets offense.

Jamal Murray – There isn’t much point guard value to share right now, so I am just going to list my second favorite guard play and that is Jamal Murray. The Nuggets are still working their way back to full health and the absence of a few guards has propelled Murray into around 38 minutes a night. Murray has scored over 45 fantasy points in four straight games and has cracked 60 fantasy points twice in that span. The crown jewel here is the matchup with the Wizards – who are allowing 119.9 points per game and opponents to shoot 48% from the floor.

Shooting Guard

James Harden – Harden is en fuego right now and playing major minutes with Kevin Durant still out for the Nets. Harden has played 41 minutes in both of his last two games and has three games over 67 fantasy points over his last four games. Harden is fresh off of a triple-double against the Kings and though the matchup against the Magic should be a little bit slower, I think it will be the Nets who force the pace here as favorites in this matchup. Harden is pricy (and a SG on FanDuel), but this is the highest ceiling we can target on Thursday – though expect it to be a popular play.

Immanuel Quickley – With Elfrid Payton doubtful, Quickley should share the point guard minutes with Austin Rivers and Derrick Rose. Quickley has seen his minutes dip in the last few games, with just 9 and 13, but no Payton should open the door for some more. There is risk here, as the Knicks could lean heavier on Burks and Rose and Quickley could see only a small increase in minutes and usage. That being said, the rookie is averaging 20 fantasy points per game and with just six games on the docket there is value here. This play can be pivoted to Derrick Rose as well.

Small Forward

Michael Porter Jr – Porter Jr. has been a bit volatile as of late, just a week ago he had a two-game stretch where he shot 3-of-19, and then just 19 minutes against the Hawks. He played 40 minutes against the Blazers on Tuesday night, racking up 30.5 fantasy points. It isn’t a lot, but the price here is cheap on both sites where a matchup with the Wizards makes this incredibly attractive.

Deni Avdija – We will want to keep an eye on the Wizards injury report, as if Davis Bertans plays, this isn’t likely to be someone I am going to target. If Bertans is out, Avdija should see minutes in the lower 20’s and at just $3,100 on DraftKings that may be all he needs to hit 5x value. Denver’s defense is pretty solid, but with a few injuries – notably to Paul Millsap, that defense takes a little bit of a hit. With just six games, we are going to have to get a bit creative.

Power Forward / Center

Giannis Antetokounmpo – The Bucks and Pelicans game tonight features a 242 game total with the Bucks being projected for 125. Giannis has 65 or more fantasy points in seven of his last eight games. These teams met about a month ago with the Pelicans getting the win – in that game, Giannis attempted 27 shots and scored 38 points for 67.75 fantasy points. Outside of Knick guards, there isn’t a ton of value right now, but Giannis’ price tag has consistently been paid off at 6x.

Steven Adams – Adams returned from injury on Wednesday and played 31 minutes, scoring 14 points with 15 boards. It was actually one of Adams highest outputs on the season. The price here is pretty cheap on both sites, but notably $5,100 on DraftKings. Outside of Giannis, the Bucks have struggled with size this season and with Bobby Portis questionable they may be down one more big man. There is a risk that Adams rests in this one – which if so, Hernangomez becomes the top value play.
