DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Super Start Batteries 188 – February 20, 2021
Noah Gragson – DK: $10,300 – Starting 26th
Noah Gragson has found plenty of success at road courses in his young career, making a 26th place start for him a massive ceiling potential with differential. In two starts at Charolette Roval, Gragson has a second and fifth-place finish in two races, while he finished third at the Indy Road Course, fourth and sixth at Road America, and third last year here at the Daytona Road Course. So in Gragson’s last six races at a Road Course, sixth place is the worth finish we have out of him. The usual suspects will be favorites to win ahead of him, last year’s champ Austin Cindric, and road dominator AJ Allmendinger. But Gragson offers us the differential upside as Cindric starts seconds and Allmendinger sixth. Both of those drivers are also slightly more expensive, making Gragson the more optimal play here.
Preston Pardus – DK: $7,600 – Starting 23rd
You are going to be pretty hard-pressed into finding any reliable value at the bottom of this pricing list. Bayley Currey had a decent showing at the Daytona Road Course last year, but his road course numbers everywhere else were next to last finishes. Pardus is a guy who isn’t going to race high-volume races, but odds are if you’re at a road course he will be there too. Last year Pardus finished 10th at Indy and eighth at Road America, though his Daytona race was cut short due to an accident. When it comes to targeting value, I rather roster someone who would call themselves a road course specialist, rather than taking a shot on guys who don’t have as much experience there.
