DraftKings & FanDuel NASCAR DFS – Xfinity 500 – November 1, 2020

Core Plays

Joey Logano – DK: $9,900 | FD: $12,500 – Starting 7th

In Logano’s last ten races at Martinsville, he has finished in the top ten six times and the top five three times. In two of those top-five finishes (one being a win) Logano led 234 laps and 309 laps. The 234 led laps was this past June, when Logano started third and finished fourth, however, the massive laps led still led to a 128 fantasy output on DraftKings. This has been one of Logano’s better tracks in recent data, though overall his results on short-tracks are a bit hit or miss. Logano starts seventh which gets us some differential upside, the issue here is Martinsville is tough to pass at. Typically to pass here you are going to need to bump and run as this is mostly a bottom lane track. With that being said, Brad Keselowski marks my second favorite play on this slate, as he has not finished worse than tenth in his last ten races here with a top-three finish in his last three races. There is a bit more risk with Kes starting on the pole, but if he is able to hold position he could dominate the entire first stage at a minimum.

Bubba Wallace Jr – DK: $7,200 | FD: $7,000 – Starting 32nd

Though it is tough to pass at this track it doesn’t necessarily mean it is impossible. It also gives us a chance to roster better drivers in the back who shouldn’t actually have issues advancing in the field. Wallace here starting 32nd is just too far back to ignore at his price. Last time Wallace ran at Martinsville he started 23rd and carved out an 11th place finish. At Bristol earlier in the year he started 36th and managed a 10th place finish and in his other Bristol start was a 27th start and 22nd finish. The key here is he finished all three races, showing that the short-track actually plays to Wallace’s strengths as a bit of a more aggressive driver. The total upside here outweighs the risk for me, as Wallace also clocked 20 fastest laps last time here.
