DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Draft Top 250 – October 31, 2020
Core Plays
Harrison Burton – DK: $10,300 – Starting 10th
We get an interesting race this weekend as the Xfinity series returns to Martinsville for the first time since 2006. So long ago, Kevin Harvick won the last race in this circuit, then called the Busch Series. So with no real track data for these drivers at all, we are just going to have to be comparative. Martinsville is the smallest track on the circuit at just 0.53 miles in length. The closest comparison we can draw here is going to be Bristol. Harrison Burton has been a core play for us twice now recently and this week we are making it a three-peat. Burton has had races of 40.5 and 68.5 fantasy points the last two weeks including the victory last week at Texas. Burton has excelled at short-tracks this year, with a fourth-place finish at Bristol and a fourth-place finish at Richmond. Going back further to earlier in the year, Burton had another fourth-place finish at Bristol en route to 66 fantasy points. Burton’s price dropped by $100 after a win and with his tenth position start, we still have a differential upside.
Colby Howard – DK: $5,700 – Starting 27th
Howard has been hit or miss this year, but there have been certain times to use him and on short-tracks has been the first place for me. In two races at Bristol this year we have seen some of the highest fantasy output from Howard – 33 fantasy points back in September and then 32 back in June. Both of those races came at the same track size that Martinsville offers. Of course, these tracks do operate a bit differently, but as said above, with no race since 2006, we have no real data on how some of these teams will approach it. Add in the fact of no practice or qualifying and we are really shooting in the dark here. But just using some of the short-track data we have for Howard, this seems like a worthy dart to fire and one that will save us money. We don’t need anything crazy here, just a finish in the 15-24 range as his price will allow us to get more action towards the top of the pricing.
