DraftKings & FanDuel NASCAR DFS – Hollywood Casino 400 – October 18, 2020

Core Plays

Kevin Harvick – DK: $10,400 | FD: $13,200 – Starting 4th

This was a bit of a toss-up between Harvick and Truex, who both grade out as the two best drivers at this track over the last three years, but with $600 in savings on DraftKings I am going with Harvick because I think you will need the savings a bit this week. Over Harvick’s last nine races here, which dates back to 2016, Harvick has never finished worse than 13th and has finished inside the top-five five total times. Back in 2019, Harvick led 104 laps, in the two races in 2018, he led 76 and 79 respectively. In fact, Harvick has led at least nine laps in seven of his last eight races here, so we can expect Harvick to find his way towards the front at some point in this one. Harvick hasn’t had to stress the last few races and it has showed a bit in down results, but moving to the round of eight for the season championship we shouldn’t have to worry if we are getting full effort.

Matt Kenseth – DK: $6,600 | FD: $6,600 – Starting 30th

This is a pure pricing and starting position play for me as Kenseth has not started further back than 26th at any point this season. The price of $6,600 is in line with what he has been priced at but the deeper starting position makes him an intriguing play. It hasn’t been a good season at all for this team with just two top-ten finishes in 29 races, but he does carry an average finishing position of 20th. Over Kenseth’s career, he holds an average finish at this track of 15th and earlier this year had a decent showing, finishing 17th. The fact that this price is the same on DraftKings and FanDuel really shows the value we are getting on both sites and though we can’t expect a top ten finish or any laps led, we can get a 15-20 finish and grab the differential points on DraftKings for them. On FanDuel, where the differential isn’t as important, this is just a deeper GPP play.
