DraftKings & FanDuel LoL Cheat Sheet – WORLDS – October 5, 2020 (10/5/20)

Helping you build the best DraftKings League of Legends lineup for the 10/5/2020 eSports DFS slate.

We have finally reached the World Championship group play slates in which 16 teams will play a double round-robin in a best of one series to eventually move to a knockout stage. So for these first few slates, we will need to keep in mind that they are just the best of one matches – something we aren’t used to with LPL/LCK play. As a note, here are the following groups for group play.

Group A: G2 Esports (LEC), Machi ESports (PCS), Suning (LPL), Team Liquid (LCS)

Group B: Damwon Gaming (LCK), JD Gaming (LPL), PSG Talon (PCS), Rogue (LEC)

Group C: Fnatic (LEC), Gen.G (LCK), LGD Gaming (LPL), Team SoloMid (LCS)

Group D: DRX (LCK), FlyQuest (LCS), Top ESports (LPL), Unicorns of Love (LCL)

As we move to day three of the group stage of Worlds, we really haven’t seen any crazy developments or upsets yet. Last night Machi Esports was able to defeat Team Liquid, though, besides name recognition, that isn’t really an “upset” in the true definition of the word. Group’s B and C have all played two games up to this point, so tonight we will see a lot from Group A and Group D, though Group B will also be playing their third game already as well. Group B is still the one that I think gives us the highest upside nightly, as long as JDG and Damwon aren’t playing each other. Damwon defeated Rogue last night, though we didn’t see much of an offensive explosion, but more of a slower tactical grind down win.

For tonight the matchups I am going to be focusing on are Damwon against PSG and Suning against Team Liquid. Damwon is the largest favorite on the slate tonight though they aren’t priced as the highest option with G2 and TES having players priced above them. In an interview last night, Damwon players said the team was “only playing at 60%” which is scary to hear from a team that is 2-0 in groups, but it also tells us that they know they can be doing a little bit better. Their opponent tonight is PSG Talon who is 0-2 in groups and only has three kills through two games. The honest worry here is Damwon winning too fast or quick and not being able to reach a kill ceiling here. I still think they are very stackable, but the Damwon team position actually gives us the best chance of an under 30 minute match here. Suning is another team I am looking forward to rostering tonight as they take on Team Liquid. Suning fell to G2 last night in a 42 minute match that saw 40 combined kills (19-21). Team Liquid fell to Machi in a low kill game last night (9-4), though Team Liquid never looked to have any shot after losing all dragon control and giving up soul point very quickly. Machi was able to grind down turrets without many team fights in which wasn’t a match that was fit for fantasy at all. Suning isn’t going to come at Team Liquid with the same passive style and should look to take more team fights than we saw last night. Suning isn’t a cheap option on this slate, but they are priced as the fourth or fifth at each position.

For absolute savings, DRX against TES is going to be an amazing match to watch. I think TES holds the upper hand here, though they are only -190 favorites. DRX is priced more like a +300 underdog and not a +190 one. In a one-game match, I can see value coming from DRX even in a loss. Unicorn’s of Love was a team that let us down two slates ago, but the matchup with FlyQuest here is way more favorable. If multi-entering here, UOL is an aggressive team that loves to take fights and should carry ownership. You can see my favorite plays in my cheat sheet below.
