DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Ag-Pro 300 – October 3, 2020

Core Plays

AJ Allmendinger – DK: $12,000 – Starting 36th

It’s almost impossible to not suggest Allmendinger when he gets in a race as DraftKings refuses to price him to the elite levels like a Kyle Busch when he runs in Xfinity races. Sure, Allmendinger isn’t that high level of a driver, but the fact is he has run eight races this year and has finished in the top ten in seven of them and started 30th or later in all but two races (27th and 11th). This will be Allmendinger’s second run at Talladega with his first being 7th place finish after a 34th place start. With a 36th place start, the place differential upside here is so high and the average of 69.6 fantasy points on the season shows you why differential matters so much. The $12,000 price tag is the highest he has been all season, but outside of the Cindric’s, Briscoe’s, and Allgaiers (and a few others) the talent level is a very wide split between Allmendinger and the field.

Caesar Bacarella – DK: $5,500 – Starting 33rd

Bacarella isn’t a guy we see a ton in the Xfinity Series as he is just a part-time racer for DGM, but he is a guy that you will usually see at a SuperSpeedway, with his three appearances on the year coming at Dayton, Talladega, and Miami. Back in June, Bacarella started 17th and finished 17th at Talladega. With a 33rd position start this week and a guy who prefers this track type, I have no issues stating that Bacarella is priced a little too low this weekend. This isn’t going to be a guy who shocks the world by any means – and I feel like a bit of a broken record week to week, but finding a guy to offset our high priced stud is the optimal strategy for Xfinity as the quality of overall racers is a bit lower. The cheap option is always a bit of a dart throw, but we have been right on them more than we have been wrong and we really just need Bacarella to finish out the race and grab us a handful of differential for him to likely be in the optimal lineup.
