Week 2 NFL DFS Defensive (DST) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Defensive Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the DST position for each DFS week of the 2020-2021 NFL DFS season.

Top Play

Bills ($4,900 FD, $3,900 DK)

Opponent Opponent Team Total Opponent Points Per Game Opponent Total Sacks Allowed  Opponent Total Turnovers
Dolphins 18.00 11 1 3

The Bills were one of the top defensive units last season and looked like they did not miss a beat in week one against the Jets. In that game, the Bills forced two turnovers, allowed just 17 points, and had three sacks on their way to eight fantasy points. This week I am expecting a repeat if not better performance from the Bills as they take on a bad Dolphins offense. In week one the Dolphins only scored 11 points and turned the ball over three times while allowing the Pats defense to score 11 fantasy points. Now, I know that is only one game but last season we saw similar results from the Dolphins offense as they allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses as they struggled to protect the ball and score points.

Value Play

Cardinals ($3,600 FD, $3,000 DK)

Opponent Opponent Team Total Opponent Points Per Game Opponent Total Sacks Allowed  Opponent Total Turnovers
Washington Football Team 19.75 27.0 3 0

The Washington Football Team scored 27 points in week one against the Eagles but when you really watch the game you will see their offense is really not good. The Football Team only gained 239 yards which were the fewest in week one, allowed three sacks, and only converted 27.8% on third-down. Those are bad numbers and similar to the numbers we saw from them last season. It is for that reason I am going to be targeting the Cardinals defense which did not look half bad in week one. Against the 49ers the Cardinals had three sacks and only allowed 20 points on their way to six fantasy points.

GPP Play

Rams ($4,500 FD, $2,800 DK)

Opponent Opponent Team Total Opponent Points Per Game Opponent Total Sacks Allowed  Opponent Total Turnovers
Eagles 22.50 17.0 8 3

This play is contingent on Lane Johnson being out for the Eagles as the Eagles offense is just not the same with Johnson out of the lineup. We saw how bad the Eagles offense is when Johnson misses time in week one against the Washington Football Team. In that game, the Eagles scored just 17 points, allowed eight sacks, and turned the ball over three times. While I doubt the Eagles have that bad of a game this week we could see the sacks pile up once again as the Rams like the Football Team have a dangerous defensive line. The Rams unlike the Football Team also have elite corners which could also put the pressure on Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense.
