Welcome to the WNBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Friday, September 11, 2020.
With only three days left in the regular season and with most teams having nothing to play for we are very likely to see teams rest some players after the most grueling WNBA season in the history of the sport. It is very important that you stay on top of the news that comes out throughout the day and are prepared to make last-minute adjustments to your lineups.
Guards to Target
Natisha Hiedeman ($6,500 DK/$3,800 FD)- Depending on the Sun injury report looks like Hiedeman might not be a player that I have any exposure to as she really needs Jasmine Thomas and Briann January to sit to have value. With that being said I don’t see either of those players playing as the Sun have no chance of moving up to a first-round bye. The reason why I like Hiedeman if both players sit is she would see 30 plus minutes as she did last game. In that game, Hiedeman had a stat line of 16/5/3 with a steal on her way to 28.5 fantasy points. Tonight we would likely see similar production as she is in a great match-up against a Dream team that has allowed the second-most points per game this season.
Tyasha Harris ($4,900 DK/$4,700 FD)- Harris is another player that we would need some players in front of her to sit. In this case, it would be either Allisha Gray or Katie Lou Samuelson. Both players are listed questionable tonight and there is a great chance that at least one if not both sit. If either one of them does sit we should see Harris play minutes in the mid to upper 20s as she has been playing minutes in the high teens recently. Harris would not only see an increase in minutes but we also know that she is a high usage player when she is on the court as she has a usage rate close to 20% this season.
Forwards to Target
Ezi Magbegor ($4,600 DK/$4,400 FD)- I might be going a bit crazy now with the Magbegor play but hear me out on this one. The Storm has listed Breanna Stewart questionable tonight with an injury and they have zero to play for as they are locked into one of the top two seeds and thus a bye to the semifinal round. That makes me believe that Stewart is going sit and that is a perfect time to give Magbegor her first start. For those of you who are not familiar with Magbegor, she has been a star in WNBL for a couple of seasons now before finally making the jump to the WNBA. Magbegor has shown her talent whenever she has gotten on the court for the Storm this season as she is averaging 1.01 fantasy points per minute this season. If Stewart sits and Magbegor starts she would likely play minutes in the mid to upper 20s which means we should see 20 plus fantasy points from her at a dirt-cheap salary.
Brianna Turner ($10,.00 DK/$7,100 FD)- I gave you three risky plays so why not give you one more to finish out this article in Turner. Unlike the other three players, we know Turner is going to play a lot of minutes and that is not what makes her risky. What makes her risky is the terrible match-up against the Storm who is the best defensive team in the WNBA. With that being said the reward on Turner far outweighs the risk as she has been putting up huge numbers ever since Brittney Griner left the Wubble. In those nine games, Turner is averaging 7.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.6 blocks. Turner has at least 30 fantasy points in seven of those nine games and is averaging 39.6 fantasy points during this time frame.
