Welcome to the WNBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
Guards to Target
Riquna Williams ($7,100 DK/$4,500 FD)- It is not often that I go all-in on a single player but tonight might be one of those nights as Williams is way too cheap in my eyes for what she brings to the table. Williams has played at least 20 minutes in four straight games for the Sparks. In those games, Williams is averaging 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 steals+blocks. Williams has at least 17 fantasy points in each game including a 26.4 fantasy point performance in her last game. It is that game that really stands out to me as the Sparks were without a number of guards who also should be out once again tonight.
Te’a Cooper ($6,000 DK/$5,000 FD)- Cooper is another Sparks guard I am targeting tonight as they really are that thin at the position. The Sparks have already ruled out Tierra Ruffin-Pratt and Sydney Wiese for tonight and Brittney Sykes who missed the last game is also not likely to play. With that trio of players out last time, Cooper got the start played 31 minutes, and had a solid 18.5 fantasy points. Tonight I don’t see why we wouldn’t see that level of production from Cooper again as she does have at least 16 fantasy points in each of the past four games she has played at least 20 minutes.
Forwards to Target
Jocelyn Willoughby ($5,700 DK/$4,800 FD)- On DraftKings Willoughby is listed as a guard so just keep that in mind. Willoughby stands out as an elite value play for me as it does look like the Liberty are going to give the rookie minutes to close out the season. Willoughby has played at least 22 minutes in four of the Liberty’s past five games and moved into the starting lineup in their last game. In that game, Willoughby had a huge game with 21 points, three rebounds, and two assists on her way to 27.6 fantasy points. That was the second straight game with at least 19 fantasy points for the rookie and it is a mark I expect her to hit with ease tonight against a Fever team that has allowed the most points per game this season.
Candace Parker ($11,500 DK/$7,800 FD)- Parker only played 24 minutes in the blowout victory against the Liberty and still had a big game with 14 points, five rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and a block on her way to 34.5 fantasy points. That was the fourth straight game with at least 34 fantasy points for Parker and in those four games, she is averaging 44.48 fantasy points. Tonight I am expecting even bigger things from Parker as the Sparks must win if they want a chance for the number two seed and that means we should see Parker play close to the whole game.
