Welcome to the WNBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
Guards to Target
Sue Bird ($7,100 DK/$5,200 FD)- I love the salary on Bird on both sites especially with Jordin Canada out once again. In the last game with Canada out the ageless Bird played 30 minutes and had an excellent game with ten points, seven assists, and two steals on her way to 23.7 fantasy points. That is the kind of production and minutes I am expecting from Bird once again even in this tough match-up against the Lynx.
Riquna Williams ($5,700 DK/$4,500 FD)- I don’t love this play but with that being said I am having a hard time not rostering Williams. Williams has played 20 minutes in back-to-back games for the Sparks and has played well in those games with at least 18 fantasy points in each game. In fact, Williams seems to play well whenever she gets minutes as she has produced at least 18 fantasy points in seven of the nine games she has played at least 20 minutes this season. With the Sky on tap today I don’t see a reason why that trend wouldn’t continue.
Forwards to Target
Myisha Hines-Allen ($9,100 DK/$6,900 FD)- There have been a couple of dud games for Hines-Allen recently but for the most part she is playing great basketball. In her past six games which includes the bad game against the Storm in which she only played 19 minutes, Hines-Allen is averaging 15.3 points, ten rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 35.3 fantasy points. That level of production along with the elite match-up against the Wings make Hines-Allen my favorite player on this slate. This season the Wings are allowing the fourth-most points per game and second-most rebounds per game. Hines-Allen also destroyed them last time these two teams faced off with 35 and 12 on her way to 58.9 fantasy points though that was an overtime game.
Kayla Thornton ($6,800 DK/$5,200 FD)- Thornton is someone I like for her consistency. Thornton has played at least 29 minutes in seven of her past eight games and in those seven games she has produced at least 16 fantasy points in each game. Thornton has also shown a bit of upside in those games as she did have two double-doubles with at least 35 fantasy points in each of those games including a game against the Mystics who she plays today.
