Welcome to the WNBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
Guards to Target
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough ($6,200 DK/$5,300 FD)- Walker-Kimbrough is getting a chance to play heavy minutes with Bria Hartley out for the season and Sophie Cunningham banged up. In the past two games, Walker-Kimbrough has played at least 29 minutes and is averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, two assists, and three steals+blocks. Walker-Kimbrough has at least 21 fantasy points in each of those games. With an elite match-up against a Liberty that allows the third-most points per game and most steals per game this season on tap, I don’t see any reason why Walker-Kimbrough cannot continue her hot play.
Kaila Charles ($5,000 DK/$4,300 FD)- I am a sucker for cheap players who play a lot of minutes and that is what we have with Charles today. Charles has played at least 25 minutes in three straight games for the Sun and should hit that mark with ease again today as Jasmine Thomas has already been ruled out for today’s game. Now, I know that Charles has not done much from a fantasy perspective in these three games as she has not produced 20 fantasy points yet and is only averaging 15.07 fantasy points in those games but that doesn’t really bother me in this one as Charles should have one of her better games. The reason why I believe Charles should have one of her better games is due to the elite match-up against the Fever who have allowed the most points per game this season.
Forwards to Target
Brionna Jones ($7,900 DK/$5,700 FD)- I will like Jones a lot better if Alyssa Thomas is ruled out for the second straight game but even if Thomas plays Jones is still one of the best points per dollar plays on this slate. The reason I feel that way is due to her consistent play as she always seems to get you over 17 fantasy points. In fact, Jones has only not reached the 17 fantasy point mark twice this season with one of the games she didn’t hit the mark being a game in which she only played 15 minutes due to foul trouble. Another reason why I feel Jones is one of the best points per dollar plays on this slate is due to the way she played against the Fever in their earlier meeting. In that game, Jones went for 15 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and a block on her way to 35.3 fantasy points.
Amanda Zahui B ($9,200 DK/$6,200 FD)- Zahui B cannot hit a shot to save her life right now and that is really affecting her fantasy performances. In her past five games, Zahui B has only shot over 20% and scored in double-figures in one of her games. With that being said Zahui B is going to start to hit shots at some point and when she does she is going to have a huge game as we know Zahui B is a high usage player and that she is going to get you plenty of rebounds and defensive stats. My gut is telling me that today is the day that Zahui B hits her shots and goes off as the Mercury have not been the same with Britteny Griner out of the Wubble.
