Welcome to the NBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Nikola Vucevic ($9,000 FD/$9,200 DK)– On Wednesday when this slate first was supposed to take place I debated between Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden for my top stud play on this slate. As the past couple of days have unfolded the debate has switched to LeBron James or Antetokounmpo as the extra three days of rest has made Russell Westbrook a lock to play today and I am no longer interested in Harden. I really cannot decide between James or Antetokounmpo as my top player on this slate so I decided not to talk about either of those players and talk about my third-favorite stud on this slate and one that I feel is likely going to fly under the radar a bit in Vucevic. Vucevic doesn’t get the recognition he deserves as he has been one of the best players in these playoffs. Vucevic has three 30/10 games in the four games this series and is averaging 29.5 points, ten rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals+blocks, and 52.13 DraftKings points.
C.J. McCollum ($8,000 FD/$8,100 DK)– McCollum’s salary raised since this slate was supposed to play on Wednesday but even at a slightly higher price tag he is my top dollar for dollar play on this slate as Damian Lillard is out. This season when not sharing the court with Lillard, McCollum has seen a 7.8% increase in usage to 33.9% and is averaging 1.21 fantasy points per minute. In the nine games that Lillard has missed completely that McCollum has played over the past two seasons, McCollum is averaging 31.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.6 steals+blocks, and 52.99 fantasy points.
Gary Clark ($4,300 FD/$4,200 DK)– Danuel House was my top value play on Wednesday but with Russell Westbrook back I don’t love him as much as I do Clark. Clark has started each of the Magic’s four games in this series with Aaron Gordon who left the bubble out and has played well with averages of nine points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals+blocks. Clark has at least 19 FanDuel points in each of those games and there really is no reason to believe he doesn’t hit that mark again in this one.
Today’s Cheat Sheets show anyone that I currently have over 35% exposure to on this slate.
