Core Plays

High Priced Option

Martin Truex Jr. – DK: $10,700 | FD: $12,200 – Starting 11th

I have a 1A and 1B for my two favorite options from this race but we will start with 1A in Martin Truex. Truex has not finished worse than seventh over his last five races here, and has 83 or more laps led in five of his last six races at New Hampshire. We are going to pay up a bit for Truex here, but without the practice data we are still relying heavily on past success at tracks as a key motivator to roster our drivers. Truex has one of the best overall scopes at this track, with an average finish of 12th in 26 career races dating back to 2006. On the year, Truex has 12 top ten’s in 22 races. We get the extra bonus of differential here, as Truex will start 11th.

The 1B I mentioned is Kyle Busch, as he has the second-best (or arguably better) career at New Hampshire with an average finish of 12.61 in 28 career races. Busch has finished this race in the top three in three of the last five races here. The kicker to Busch here is the elite savings we can get on DraftKings as he is just $9,300 compared to his $12,600 price on FanDuel. Kyle Busch led 118 laps in this race in 2019 and 187 in 2017. Busch has been polarizing so far since the restart, but he is still a top driver on the circuit.

One last bonus guy here – Christopher Bell starts 35th and despite his $10,100 price tag, this is a track Bell won both of his careers starts at the Xfinity level.

Low Priced Option

John H. Nemechek – DK: $7,000 | FD: $5,500 – Starting 36th

Value this week isn’t super attractive, which is a bummer as it is a week to grab a lot of guys at the top in my opinion. Nemechek seems to be the best value here with a starting position of 36th as he has an average finish of 22 over his last six races. Nemechek ran this track twice in the Xfinity series, crashing in one and finishing fourth in the other. Chris Buescher is another guy I have interest in, though with a starting position of 24 and an average finish of 23 at NH, the ceiling here isn’t super high – but it may be safe.
