The WNBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings WNBA DFS Picks – July 31, 2020 (7/31/20)

Welcome to the WNBA Rundown for FanDuel and DraftKings contests on Friday, July 31, 2020.

I am running hot right now with another top-five finish in the Press. That is now three out of the past five days with a top-five finish in that particular contest including a win. I hope you all have also been finding success by narrowing your player pool with the help of this article, capping your exposures, and using FC Projections.

Guards to Target

Sabrina Ionescu ($10,300 DK/$6,600 FD)- Two games is all it took for Ionescu to show the WNBA that she is the real deal. In that game against Dallas, the number one pick and best to ever lace them up on the collegiate level went for 33 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists on her way to 46.9 fantasy points. That performance caused a big salary increase for Ionescu as she is now the second-most expensive guard on each site. While no one loves the bump in salary for Ionescu I don’t see how you don’t go back to the well with her tonight as she faces a Dream team that is allowing the third-most points per game this season and has really struggled to defend the three-point line.

Layshia Clarendon ($8,100 DK/$5,200 FD)- Clarendon is another Liberty guard that I like tonight as the Dream really are that bad. Clarendon has also played really well to start the season with at least 22 fantasy points in each of the Liberty’s first two games of the season. Clarendon would also be the biggest benefactor if Kia Nurse were to miss tonight’s game due to her ankle injury which I believe is a strong possibility as she did not look right on Wednesday.

Tiffany Mitchell ($7,500 DK/$5,100 FD)- Mitchell has played really well to start the season for the Fever. Mitchell has produced at least 23 fantasy points in each of her first two games and is averaging 19.5 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Tonight we shouldn’t see Mitchell slow down as she faces a Wings team that has allowed 92.5 points per game to start the season.

Forwards to Target

Angel McCoughtry ($10,700 DK/$7,000 FD)- McCoughtry only played 15 minutes in the Aces last game as they destroyed the Dream but even in her 15 minutes, she had a huge fantasy game. McCoughtry went for 12/7/2 with a block and a steal on her way to 31.4 fantasy points in that game. McCoughtry in her return season is now averaging 1.68 fantasy points per minute. While I know what you are saying there is no way that McCoughtry can continue this level of production I would disagree with you especially tonight as the Mercury have been terrible. The Mercury have allowed at least 99 points in each of their first two games this season.

Monique Billings  ($9,400 DK/$6,400 FD)- After a killer season debut Billings came back down to earth against the Aces due to the blowout but I really like her to bounce back tonight against the Liberty. The Liberty are a below-average defensive team and I don’t feel with their young roster they have the ability to blow the Dream out which should mean Billings plays close to 30 minutes once again tonight.

Natalie Achonwa ($6,100 DK/$4,900 FD)- Unlike the previous slates we have seen there are not any value plays that just jump out at you and say you must play me and due to that fact I am going to take some chances on players that I normally wouldn’t have that much exposure to. Achonwa is one of those players. The reason why I am willing to take a chance on Achonwa tonight despite her not playing more than 19 minutes in a game this season is due to her ability to rebound the ball. Achonwa has at least six rebounds in each of the Fever’s first two games this season and the Wings have been the worst rebounding team to start the year.
