Welcome to the Daily Rundown for FanDuel for KBO DFS contests on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
We have no weather concerns on this slate which makes me extremely happy as I sure got the weather wrong on the last slate. The game I thought wasn’t going to play ended up playing while the game I didn’t think I had to worry about was rained out.
Pitcher to Target
Top Pitcher – Chang Mo Koo- $29
Koo had his first bad start of the season last time he took the mound but I am going to forgive him for that one outing as he has been excellent all season long. In his prior eight starts, Koo allowed a total of five earned runs, struck out at least six hitters in each game, and had a quality start in each game. Koo produced at least 43 fantasy points in each of those eight starts. Koo has not only been the best pitcher in the KBO but the match-up is also a top one. This season not including Tuesday’s games the Lotte Giants are averaging the third-fewest runs per game and have hit the second-fewest home runs.
GPP Pitcher – Shi Hwan Jang- $23
Jang is not likely to be highly owned on this slate as he has horrible odds with a projected win percentage of just 28.8% and the Tigers the team he is facing is projected for the second-highest run total on this slate at 5.9. Jang’s low projected ownership makes him the perfect GPP target as he has an elite ability to rack up strikeouts. Jang has 46 strikeouts in his 37.2 innings of action. That is good enough for a K/9 rate of 11.1 which is by far the highest of any pitcher with at least 30 innings pitched in the KBO this season. Jang also had one of his best starts of the season against the Tigers the only other time he faced them. In that game, Jang had a quality start with three earned runs allowed and seven strikeouts on his way to 34 fantasy points.
Stack to Target
Top Stack – NC Dinos
The Dinos were in this article yesterday as my top stack and did not really disappoint with eight runs scored on 11 hits with three of those hits being home runs. I am expecting a similar if not bigger performance from the Dinos again today as they are in an elite match-up against Won-sam Jang. Jang has only faced 18 hitters this season and between those 18 hitters, they have ten hits, a walk, and have scored three runs. Once again the whole Dinos lineup is in play as each hitter with at least 100 plate appearances this season has a wOBA of at least .350 with six of those hitters having ISOs of at least .190 as well. The five guys below are the guys I am going to be prioritizing
- OF Jin-Sung Kang $15
- OF Myung-gi Lee $9
- OF Sung-Bum Na $18
- OF Aaron Altherr $16
- IF Eui-Ji Yang $14
GPP Stack – None
This might be a cop-out but outside of the Dinos there is not a team that really jumps out at me and I am going to be really spreading my exposures out between the Tigers, Heroes, Giants, and Dinos.
