DraftKings & FanDuel NASCAR DFS – Pocono Organics 325 – June 27, 2020 (6/27/20)

Core Plays

Kyle Busch – DK: $9,300 | FD: $13,500 – Starting 4th

It’s been a comedy of errors in recent memory for Kyle Busch. From speeding on pit lane, speeding on pit lane again, brushing the wall every race, we have seen some disappointment out of who is usually one of the best drivers in all of Nascar. I am a firm believer in not worrying about small samples or recent negative history unless it directly impacts the car, but in this case, Busch’s equipment hasn’t been the problem. So how do we get right? We go to Pocono. Busch has absolutely dominated this track in recent memory, posting eight straight finishes inside the top ten and three victories in that span. Busch has led at least a lap in every race here since 2015 and has led 52 or more five of the last six races. Busch grades out as the best driver in the Cup Series at Pocono and not only that, we get him at a steep discount of just $9,300 on DraftKings. DraftKings did very well pricing up drivers this week, but Busch appears to have slipped through the cracks and tops my favorite plays this weekend.

Erik Jones – DK: $7,100 | FD: $10,000 – Starting 19th

Speaking of guys who run well at Pocono, look no further than Erik Jones for great mid-tier value. Jones has raced six times at Pocono in his career and has finished inside the top five in four of those races and inside the top ten in five of them. In his two races at Pocono last year, Jones finished 2nd and 3rd. While we have only had a couple of handfuls of laps led, the 19th starting position offers us enough place differential upside for him to easily pay off his DraftKings salary. Again, we are at Pocono, where passing isn’t the easiest thing, but someone with past career success should still be able to find a few gaps.  On FanDuel, this play isn’t as much of a core play, though it is definitely a tournament one still. If you are looking for massive value on FanDuel, Christopher Bell is still just $8,000 despite starting 36th. Place differential isn’t as big of a points getter on FanDuel compared to DraftKings, but there is still a lot of value in that play. Bell finished fifth in his last start here for Xfinity.
