Core Plays

Kyle Busch – DK: $12,500 | FD: $14,000 – Starting 7th

Busch is a fringe core play week in and week out but it rings even more true when you put Kyle Busch at his best statistical track. In 29 cup races at Bristol Busch has eight wins and 12 finishes inside the top five. Inside of that, Busch has also won three of his last five races here. Busch has won his last two spring races here while leading 71 and 117 laps respectively. Busch will end up chalky, but as I have spoken to before, chalk in NASCAR is sometimes more unavoidable than other sports. Sure, there are still pivots that can be made, but since we are focusing mainly on dominators as our expensive option, it is hard to look past a guy with this much recent success at a track.

Brad Keselowski gets an honorable mention here as he starts from the pole. With a short track like Bristol, there is a strong chance for Kes to dominate an early chunk of this race. In Keselowski’s last four races here, he has led a combined 198 laps.

Tyler Reddick – DK: $7,900 | FD: $7,300 – Starting 21st

The rookie Reddick has turned in three straight top 14 finishes and hasn’t really seen a price increase that he may deserve, including being criminally cheap on FanDuel. Reddick has raced at Bristol five times in his Xfinity career and has finished first and second in his last two attempts here and has never finished worse than eleventh. Of course, this is a way different field, but it shows he has a good handle on this track. With Reddick starting 21st we have a shot at a decent amount of differential here and even if he doesn’t crack the top five, the price here gives us a nice floor to work with.
