DraftKings Outlaw Tour: Southern Dunes Classic – Round 2 -DFS Core Plays & Cheat Sheet for the May 27, 2020 Slate
In this article, I’ll give you 3 core plays and a Cheat Sheet for your Round 2 showdown slate!
The three core plays were pretty pedestrian yesterday, with Galletti going 2 under while Xiong shot even par and Funk shot -1. We managed to nail first round leader Nick Arman in the cheat sheet to salvage the day in the end. The scores came in a little lower than I was expecting given the length of the track at Southern Dunes – so we can expect there to be a fair amount of scoring out there for the players to take advantage of. Let’s dive in and look at some options to consider for the Round 2 Showdown slate:
Nicolo Galletti – $10,400
I’m going to double down on Wednesday with Galletti after a fairly disappointing first round from him. He just couldn’t really get things going in order to string together birdies – but I expect him to bounce back and vault his way up the leaderboard in the second round of the tournament. He has been elite at scoring on Par 5’s, and I expect him to use that to his advantage on the long course, giving himself more chances to score than a lot of the competition. Look for him to go low on Wednesday and rack up the DKP.
Noah Hoffman – $8,000
Hoffman came out and fired a 3 under, 69 in the first round of the Southern Dunes Classic, starting slowly on the front 9 with nine straight pars before stringing together some success on the back nine, before giving back a bogey on 18. I expect him to score better in the second round – and have a feeling he will be lower owned than he should. He played great on the Par 5’s, checking in at 3-under, including an eagle, and I think he’ll be able to do some damage on them again on Wednesday. If he can score better on the other holes, he could be in line for one of the better days for the field – and I love the price point here.
Jon Trasamar – $7,700
Trasamar had an excellent first round, firing a 5 under 67. He hits the ball long, has done a great job on Par 5’s and ranks as one of the leaders on the Outlaw Tour for scoring leaders in terms of par breakers (tied with Nicolo Galletti at 32.8% for the lead for players who have played more than 10 rounds). Rostering him can be a bit of a rollercoaster, but I like his chances of keeping his strong Round 1 going into Wednesday for this one – and the price point is outstanding for an option with a ceiling as high as his is.
