DraftKings & FanDuel NASCAR DFS – Toyota 500 – May 20, 2020 (5/20/20)
This race lineup was set by how the field finished in Sunday’s race with NASCAR reversing the order of 1-20 (IE: Harvick starts 20th, Preece starts 1st). This becomes an increasingly interesting field as guys you would typically label as Dominator’s all start back in the 15-20 range with Truex, Hamlin, Elliot, Harvick there. Kyle Busch starts even further back at 26th
Kurt Busch – DK: $8,700 | FD: $9,400
Kurt Busch had a strong run on Sunday finishing third after starting 22nd. He also managed to have 10 of the fastest laps. We got strong place differential here and we didn’t see the price spike around him. DraftKings decided to only raise Busch’s price by $200 which likely will make Busch chalky but hard to argue with. His FanDuel price also remained the same. As I talked about in the previous writeup, with no practice data and no qualifying speeds, we are going to need to use the information we have at hand to make the best prediction here. Busch lands in a near-identical spot on Wednesday starting out of the 18th spot. His car has proven it has the legs to find a top-five finish. This play feels safe and I don’t mind erring on the side of caution here. Busch has finished in the top eight in five of his last six Darlington races.
Matt Kenseth – DK: $7,400 | FD: $7,200
There isn’t a ton of flashiness with this pick, but at a sub $7,500 price-point Matt Kenseth showed he still has some juice left in the tank. Kenseth started 12th and finished 10th this past Sunday while leading four laps. It wasn’t anything overly special, but if we can mimic the performance here we are looking at a strong floor play. Kenseth joined the team as a replacement for Kyle Larson, in a car that has ran well at Darlington in the past. Kenseth has the talent and using this past weekend’s race for a warm-up might have him looking for bigger things this time around. Kenseth will start 11th, but his price on each site is just too low in my opinion.
