DraftKings The Scottsdale AZ Open Round 3 DFS Core Plays & Cheat Sheet for the May 14, 2020 Slate
In this article, I’ll give you 3 core plays and a Cheat Sheet for your Round 3 showdown slate!
We saw most of the favourites make it through into the final round on Thursday. Carson Roberts carries a one stroke lead on Joel Dahmen, the defending champ and local PGA pro who will be tough to fend off in the final round on Thursday. It should be an exciting down to the wire finish – so let’s dive in and have a look at some of the best options on the board for the Round 3 Golf Showdown slate on DraftKings!
Joel Dahmen – $10,400
I’m going to keep things rolling with a wire to wire reco for Dahmen – largely due to the fact that he is just the best golfer out here this week. He goes into the final round in second place – just a stroke back after a -7 second round, and I like his chances of going low in the final pairing on Thursday. The price point is affordable, and his game tee to green is going to put him in a prime chance to win this tournament if he is able to knock down enough putts – which has long been the hold-up from him taking a leap on the PGA tour.
Nick Mason – $8,200
Mason has yet to have a breakout round in this tournament – but I wouldn’t be shocked to see him have one on Thursday. He comes into this tournament playing great golf – with four top 10 finishes in his last 5 tournaments, and I think he’ll fly under the radar with respect to ownership levels compared to some golfers that had hot Wednesday’s in the same price range. He’s a great game theory mid-priced option for the Showdown slate for the third and final round.
Colt Knost – $7,900
Knost may have retired from PGA action, but his game is in fine form – and he has been playing great through two rounds at the Scottsdale AZ Open. He comes into this one T4 at -9, and at this price point – it is hard to argue with getting a former PGA calibre option in a non PGA event. He doesn’t break the bank, can be combined with other pros – and he should be right in the mix of things at the top of the leaderboard when the leading groups make the turn on Thursday.
