Core Plays

After a couple of bad nights that has seen me hit on exactly one player, I am just going to jump in and give you the four guys that I currently have the top exposures to tonight.

  • Elfrid Payton ($6,200/PG)- Payton is coming off a horrible game against the Wizards in which he only produced 13.4 fantasy points in 18 minutes but that doesn’t bother me tonight for a couple of reasons. The first is the simple fact that Payton had been playing really well. Payton had at least 30 fantasy points in each of the three previous games. The second reason is due to the match-up against the Hawks. The Hawks are a great match-up for point guards as they rank in the bottom ten in fantasy points allowed per game and defensive efficiency to the position though the same could be said about the Wizards last night.
  • Gary Harris ($4,600/SG)- Harris is a little more expensive than I would like as his salary rose $500 since Monday but even with his elevated salary I have a lot of Harris tonight as the shooting guard position is ugly and Harris is playing really well this month. In his five games in March, Harris is averaging 14 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.8 steals+blocks. Harris has at least 19 fantasy points in seven of his past eight games including four straight games with at least 25 fantasy points.
  • Maxi Kleber ($4,400/SF)- I don’t believe Kristaps Porzingis is going to play tonight after playing 38 minutes in the first game of the back-to-back set and that is why I am all over Kleber tonight. This season in the 15 games that Porzingis has missed that Kleber has played, Kleber is averaging 12.1 points, six rebounds, 1.1 assists, 2.4 steals+blocks, and 27.43 fantasy points.
  • Trae Young ($10,000/PG)- I don’t know if I love Young tonight but you have to spend up for someone tonight and Young looks to be the best expensive player on the slate as he is coming off a huge game against the Hornets in double-overtime and has dominated the Knicks in their two previous meetings. Young scored over 40 points in each of those two games and is averaging 45 points, 2.5 rebounds, 10.5 assists, a steal, and 61.75 fantasy points in those games.
