XFL Week 4 DFS Primer – February 28, 2020

Welcome to the XFL DFS Fantasy Week 4 Primer (February 28, 2020)

Welcome to the first ever XFL Primer for FanDuel & DraftKings contests!

What a fantastic opening week, four good games and even bigger crowds expected for week 2! We learned a lot about the league last week so lets talking about it!

Note: Since FanDuel doesn’t have any 4-game slates posted, I’ve gone ahead and used DraftKings Pricing.

Top Play: Cardale Jones ($9,900)

I loved Cardale Jones last week (and wrote him up as the top play) because I thought DC was overrated and would get into a shootout with LA. LA showed up and did their part, DC on the other hand did not and was a total disaster. That being said this week against Tampa everything that held true against LA is true once again and he is a fantastic pivot off of Phillip Walker chalk (rephrase: fantastic is prolly an overstatement, Just hard to play Walker without Phillips and that is SO much of your cap). Fading Phillip Walker feels insane but the price/ownership is getting to a point where the GPP upside is worth it.

Running Back:

Top Play: Matt Jones ($7,100)

Remember how I said I thought the Battlehawks would be more run heavy? I like Jones this week if he’s good to go (if he can’t Christine Michael would be an elite play). With the XFL Pricing getting sharper and sharper by the week, the value of the elite RB will start to rise and that clearly is Matt Jones. Matt Jones fell just shy of the 100 yard bonus last week which at this current price tag with a TD would be GPP winning caliber. Now, his price is down, the Battlehawks are even bigger favorites, and they’ve shown a willingness to pound the rock when up big.

Wide Receiver:

Top Play: Jordan Smallwood ($6,700)

Tre McBride is going to be the hype player of the week coming off his fantastic performance sunday night against the Defenders, but with Nelson Spruce out, the big winner is Jordan Smallwood who had gone from the #2 to #3 WR and now gets back his strong #2 role. I expect Smallwood to be similarly owned to what Jalen Tolliver was last week. Match-up doesn’t get much better than the train-wreck that is NY.
