XFL Week 2 DFS Primer – February 14, 2020

Welcome to the XFL DFS Fantasy Week 2 Primer (February 14, 2020)

Welcome to the first ever XFL Primer for FanDuel & DraftKings contests!

What a fantastic opening week, four good games and even bigger crowds expected for week 2! We learned a lot about the league last week so lets talking about it!

Note: Since FanDuel doesn’t have any 4-game slates posted, I’ve gone ahead and used DraftKings Pricing.

Top Play: Jordan Ta’Amu ($8,900)

Ta’Amu was listed as the top play last week and did quite well. After playing a slow game last week against a Dallas team that couldn’t get out if it’s own way the Battlehawks draw a tougher match-up against Houston’s offense that looked unstoppable in week 1. While I fully expect the Battlehawks defense to do a better job against PJ Walker than the Wildcats did, the Battlehawks are gonna need to get more than 15 points if they want to win the game. In that scenario Ta’Amu gets to air it out more and use his legs which is super valuable.

Running Back:

Top Play: Nick Holley ($4,800)

Week 1 of the XFL had 0 Running backs find the endzone. While I do think that’s an exaggeration and some running backs will find the endzone in Week 2, we do have an opportunity with Nick Holley to play 0 RB teams. Nick Holley made the Roughnecks as a running back but was converted to WR before week 1 and posted a very respectable 4 catches for 50 yards. 9 points out of the RB slot would be pretty good and in the dynamic Houston offense, it’s definitely not crazy for him to do more.

Wide Receiver:

Top Play: Dan Williams ($7,600)

In doing my reserach for week 1, it quickly became clear that Dan Williams was the standout for the Vipers in camp making every catch and having multiple clips getting end zone targets. He showed that wasn’t a fluke as he had 9 targets which went for 6-123. Tampa didn’t get in the endzone week 1 but they did have the most total yardage of any XFL team so there is still a lot of upside here (especially against a bad Dragons defense).
