Sharing core plays and a cheat sheet for February 12, 2020, NBA DFS slate on DraftKings.
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for DraftKings for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
What To Do With the Bucks
Unlike Fanduel, Draftkings jacked up the prices on Middleton and Eric Bledsoe making it an interesting decision whether to play them. The reason to play them is that they get a massive FPPM boost without Giannis on the floor with Khris Middleton at a 1.53 FPPM clip (1.27 overall) and Eric Bledsoe is at a 1.56 FPPM clip (1.18 overall). The reasons to fade are that both players will be very highly owned despite the price increases. Right now I lean towards fading them given the high ownership, but I’m going to spend a lot of time looking into this decision because it will dictate how the rest of the slate goes.
Look For New Starters to Find Value
With Serge Ibaka questionable with an illness, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is in line for another start. While OG Anunoby was the star the first game with no Ibaka I would expect RHJ, Lowry and VanVleet to be the beneficiaries against a Nets team that has issues defending guards and stretch forwards. Minnesota has a trio of new starters in Russell, Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez who draw a good match-up against Charlotte. Russell is fairly priced (but in a great spot), but Beasley and Hernangomez are still too cheap given their minutes and usage. Also James Johnson has played a sneaky amount of minutes in his first two games. While it’s too thin for a large slate, he does have turbo or short slate appeal.
The All-Star Break is Near, News Will Happen
The few days before the trade deadline everyone knows to be on the lookout for news but what people forget is players with nagging injuries they’ve played through all year use this day as an opportunity to skip 1 game to get 1.5 weeks of rest. Don’t go playing huge percentages of your bankroll but also if you have two equivalent plays, you should try to lean towards the one with the later start time as having roster flexibility can be very valuable when news hits. While I can’t tell you which players take this extra rest with already 65 injuries on the books for this eleven game slate, it’s likely that number grows at some point today.
Please note that we can only list a player at one position on the cheat sheets and unless otherwise noted I like the player at both of their eligible positions.
