Sharing core plays and a cheat sheet for the December 15, 2019, NBA DFS slate on FanDuel.
Welcome to our NBA Core Plays & Cheat Sheet column for FanDuel.
We’ll be sharing this article with you for all key slates (2 games+) over the course of the 2019-2020 NBA season. Hope you enjoy!
Core Plays – Main Slate
PG – Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN vs PHI, $7,700
I feel like I’m a bit of a broken record here with all the Dinwiddie love. Well, as long as Kyrie Irving is out, he remains a premium target at this price. He dropped 43.4 FP yesterday against a tough Raptors defense, and gets another difficult match-up against the Sixers – but will see the minutes and usage he needs to produce at a 5+ ROI level. For a guy playing as consistently as he is for an affordable price (especially on a short slate), he remains a great play.
SG – Buddy Hield, SAC @ GSW, $7,800
This is a great game to target as both defences really struggle on that end, making the right values the core plays for your lineup construction here. And, when we stack up how elite Hield has been for the Kings of late, you get another Dinwiddie-like play that has been uber consistent at delivering high-end production at a fair price. He’s scored at least 37 fantasy points in 4 straight games – including 2 back-to-back outings over 43 points – playing 36+ minutes and holding a usage rate over 31% in each. For a trend that could easily continue, he makes for an elite SG1 option against a bottom third DvP situation.
SF – Glenn Robinson III, GSW vs SAC, $4,500
This isn’t a play that’s going to Gerry you all kinds of excited, but he’s been delivering a great ROI in his last week+ of action and deserves consideration on a short 4 game slate. For the price, his 26.23 FPPG average in that time would return a 5.8x value score at his price point today, and given his mid-30s minutes role and high-end rebounds/steals production while he’s getting extra floor time, he’s a worthy play at a soft(er) position in a positive match-up that I want some exposure to.
PF – Marquese Chriss, GSW vs SAC, $4,500
If Draymond Green and/or Eric Paschall are ruled out for the Warriors ahead of this one, Chris makes for an elite value target yet again. Chriss has 38 and 43.1 fantasy points in his last couple games stepping up for Paschall’s injury (Draymond Green too), seeing 23.5 MPG in that time while delivering really fantasy-friendly double-doubles with plus hustle stats in the process (3+ S+B in each). The minutes could come down here if Green/Paschall are active so keep a close eye – but he’s done enough to have potentially carved out a 18-20 minute role here and could still be a GPP-worthy target.
e and amount of points on both sides, and his defensive prowess in the steals department (2+ in 4 of his last 5) keeps the floor/ceiling combo very much intact (even with a slight price jump of late).
