Welcome to the FC Insights Core Plays and Cheat Sheet Article for DraftKings.
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for DraftKings for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
VanVleet remains underpriced as he continues to put up big numbers even with the return of Kyle Lowry. In the two games since the return of Lowry, VanVleet is averaging 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.5 steals+blocks. VanVleet has at least 35 fantasy points in both of those games and has hit that mark in 10 of his past 11 games though Lowry was out for most of them.
In the two previous games that Rodney Hood who is now out for the season missed, Bazemore averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Bazemore produced at least 25 fantasy points in both of those games. Those numbers make Bazemore the top value play on this slate and he is as close to a must-play as you can get.
Look I know Leonard is not likely to play his full allotment of minutes tonight as the Clippers should dominate the Wizards as they did last Sunday but that doesn’t bother me as even in limited minutes Leonard is going to dominate. In that game last Sunday, Leonard had 34 points, six rebounds, three assists, and 48.5 fantasy points in just 26 minutes. With how bad the Wizards are on the defensive end of the court it is not some crazy notion to think that Leonard has a similar game tonight with the potential for much more if the Wizards somehow manages to keep it close. Do make sure that you check Leonard’s status before locking him in tonight as this is the first game of a back-to-back set for the Clippers so there is a chance he could rest tonight instead of tomorrow night.
The Thunder may seem like a bad match-up for Whiteside but they are actually a great match-up for the big man as they don’t rebound the ball well. This season the Thunder have the fourth-worst team rebounding rate in the NBA and are allowing over ten offensive rebounds per game. Whiteside has taken advantage of this match-up twice this season already. In those two meetings, Whiteside is averaging 16.5 points, 14 rebounds, a steal, and a block in just 23.6 minutes of action. Whiteside has at least 35 fantasy points in those games and is averaging over 1.6 fantasy points per minute in those meetings.
Please note that we can only list a player at one position on the cheat sheets and unless otherwise noted I like the player at both of their eligible positions.
