Welcome to the FC Insights Core Plays and Cheat Sheet Article for Yahoo.
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for Yahoo for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
I am spending up for Doncic tonight as he is just that damn good. Doncic has a usage rate of 37.9% this season is averaging 1.67 fantasy points per minute and has at least 53 fantasy points in 11 of his past 12 games. Doncic is not just putting up big numbers on a nightly basis but the match-up against the Pelicans is also one to target. This season the Pelicans have the fifth-worst defensive net rating and are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to point guards. When these two teams met in the second game of the season, Doncic had 25/10/10 on his way to 55 fantasy points and it is safe to say that Doncic has really only gotten better since that game.
Danuel House is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest but it sounds more to me like House is more likely to sit than play tonight. If House is out once again I love me some McLemore. McLemore would start in House’s place and so far this season he has played well when in the Rockets’ starting lineup. In those five games, McLemore is averaging 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. McLemore has at least 17 fantasy points in each of those starts and is coming off a huge 43.1 fantasy point performance against the Hawks. While I am not expecting McLemore to have 43 fantasy points again in this one I do expect him to easily pay off his salary as the Spurs have not defended small forwards well at all this season allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to the position.
Birch has two straight big games for the Magic. In those games, Birch is averaging 5.5 points, 11 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and two blocks. Birch has at least 28 fantasy points in each of those games. While I know it is hard to trust Birch to give us a third straight huge game I am expecting it to happen tonight due to the match-up against the Wizards. The Wizards are the perfect match-up for Birch as they have the second-worst team rebounding rate and are allowing the most fantasy points per game to centers this season.
I cannot get enough of Whiteside as he has been on a tear since his return from injury. In those three games, Whiteside is averaging 14 points, 14.3 rebounds, and four blocks in just 25.1 minutes of action. Whiteside has at least 35 fantasy points in each of those three games and is averaging 1.8 fantasy points per minute during this stretch. Whiteside is not just playing well right now but I actually like the match-up for him against the Clippers. While the Clippers are one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA they have allowed the 12th most fantasy points per game to centers this season.
