Sharing core plays and a cheat sheet for the December 3, 2019, NBA DFS slate on FanDuel.
Welcome to our NBA Core Plays & Cheat Sheet column for FanDuel.
We’ll be sharing this article with you for all key slates (2 games+) over the course of the 2019-2020 NBA season. Hope you enjoy!
Core Plays – Main Slate
SG – Jrue Holiday, NOP vs DAL, $8,300
After a slow start to the season, Holiday has really gotten into a nice groove lately, scoring 30+ FP in 8 straight games and reading over the 47 point mark in 50% of the time in that span. He’s getting huge minutes for the Pelicans these days (36+ in 6 straight) and a test against Luka Doncic and the Mavs today will demand the same once again. DAL is a good defensive group against the position, but the minutes and hustle stats offset that aspect in my eyes – not to mention a plus-pace and total here that should keep things moving and highly productive for both teams. In addition to Hart who we love today as well, Holiday is a very high floor, solid upside option in his own right.
PF – Bam Adebayo, MIA @ TOR, $7,900
In no way am I minimizing the Raptors defensively with this recommendation, but Adebayo is a prime target for me at PF this evening. Not only has the young budding star scored at least 39 fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games, but he’s put together some huge games against Toronto in his career thus far, and that was mostly when Hassan Whiteside was a part of the Heat’s rotation. He’s eclipsed the 38+ FP mark 3 times against them to date, and with the boost in minutes/usage that we’re seeing from him this year, a 40+ point night feels quite realistic. He’s no stranger to good games against tougher front courts (look at that 43.2 FP night against Clint Capela and company in Houston just 3 games ago) – and I expect big things tonight, too.
SG – Josh Hart, NOP vs DAL, $4,700
We have Hart as our top value based on projections so far today, with a 6.0 mark on 28.34 fantasy points thanks to 30.25 minutes and just a $4,700 salary. We have injuries to Kenrich Williams, Darius Miller and Derrick Favors to thank for that (Williams in particular), which required Hart to play 33 minutes off the bench in their last game against the Thunder (38.2 FP). With DAL/NOP being a prime game for DFS exposure tonight, Hart is a tremendous value SG even with a lower usage rate. His rebounding and hustle efficiency will pay nice dividends for us in fantasy as we’ve seen him put together many nice 30+ FP games this year when the situation’s been right (4 times in his last 8).
SG – Ben McLemore, HOU @ SAS, $3,700
This play could become one that we ignore if Danuel House is deemed good to go prior to tip, but there are conflicting reports out there that suggest his questionable tag could be more of a doubtful classification. If it ends up that House is in fact going to sit out, McLemore is likely to start once again and play meaningful minutes for the Rockets. In their last game – a blowout win against the Hawks – McLemore saw 34 minutes and finished with 43.1 FP thanks to great shooting and rebounding numbers. He’s more likely to be a mid-30s fantasy point contributor than into the 40s, but for $3,700 if the minutes are there, he’s still a great value. Keep a close eye on this situation though, and be ready to pivot if House is active.
