Welcome to the FC Insights Wide Receiver Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the WR position for each DFS week of the 2019-2020 NFL DFS season.
In this article, I am going to give you the top ten wide receivers in my personal model which uses a number of factors like Vegas total, match-up, salary, etc. Please note that just because a player is not in this article doesn’t mean that I don’t like them or that they are not in my player pool.
Last Weeks Results
Based off of DraftKings scoring
- Michael Thomas (29.10 Fantasy Points, 3.1x, WR4)
- Odell Beckham Jr. (20.4, 2.9x, WR12)
- D.J. Chark (10.8, 1.7x, WR32)
- James Washington (18.8, 3.8x, WR15)
- Calvin Ridley (22, 3.4x, WR10)
- Julio Jones (11.8, 1.5x, WR30)
- Tyrell Williams (3.8, 0.6x, WR70)
- Tyler Lockett (4.8, 0.6x, WR63)
- Chris Godwin (40.4, 5.6x, WR1)
- Mike Evans (9.0, 1.2x, WR40)
Tyreek Hill ($8,300 FD, $8,900 DK)
With Michael Thomas not being on the main slate we have to go a different direction on the main slate but Tyreek isn’t that much of a step down. While Tyreek Hill missed the 1st match-up between these teams, the Raiders gave up long TD passes to his teammates (Robinson and Hardman). Tyreek of course is better than those guys so see potential here for a huge score.
DJ Moore ($6,800 FD, $6,800 DK)
The Panthers offense was very impressive in that heartbreaking loss to the Saints last week. Now they get to return home to face the bad Redskins defense. D.J. Moore has received 9+ targets in each of his last six games and if he does that in this spot he’ll be in a great spot to mash value.
D.J. Chark ($6,900 FD, $6,600 DK)
The price point on Chark is still too cheap given his match-up against a Bucs secondary that gives up yardage and touchdowns to everyone through the air. The Jaguars pass defense has quietly been bad lately (more on that later) so should force Jaguars into having to throw the ball more.
Zach Pascal ($5,400 FD, $4,700 DK)
With the unexpected downgrade of TY Hilton to out, Pascal re-emerges as the #1 passing option for the Colts against a Titans secondary that has been giving up yardage to everyone.
Christian Kirk ($6,100 FD, $5,700 DK)
The Rams secondary we thought was going to be good after trading away a fortune for Jalen Ramsey but they have been dead last vs WR’s since. Kyler Murray has been going to Kirk early and often since his return with 9+ targets in 3 of his last 4 (the low target game was vs elite SF D). Working over the middle a ton, he could do a lot of what Marquise Brown did last week for the Ravens.
Tyler Boyd ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK)
Andy Dalton is back at QB for the Bengals which is good for news for Boyd who got over 10 targets in 5 of 8 games with Dalton behind center and had no games below 6 targets. The Jets secondary looked good last week but that was more about the Raiders than their talent as they still have given up the 7th most points to WR’s in the last month.
Dede Westbrook ($6,400 FD, $5,900 DK)
As mentioned with Chark, the Bucs give up passing yards to everyone including slot WR’s and we saw last week Westbrook is still a favorite target of Nick Foles if open and against the Bucs that shouldn’t be an issue. Westbrook is a better play on PPR sites but still viable on Half-PPR sites.
Jamison Crowder ($6,300 FD, $5,600 DK)
Crowder has been a consistent weapon for Sam Darnold til last week’s beat-down vs the Raiders where they really didn’t need to pass too often. Before that he had gotten 5+ targets in every Sam Darnold game and this week they draw the Cincinnati Bengals defense which is 26th in fewest points allowed to WR’s. Should be a nice rebound opportunity for Crowder.
Chris Godwin ($8,200 FD, $7,700 DK)
Jaguars pass defense last week gave up 259 yards and 4 total touchdowns to Ryan Tannehill last week and for all his flaws Jameis is a better passer than Tannehill. Godwin is one of the two elite Tampa WR’s to catch those balls. Tampa’s running game hasn’t been super efficient so should be another heavy passing game.
Mike Evans ($7,700 FD, $6,900 DK)
In a game that should be high scoring, look for Mike Evans to produce for the Bucs. Much like Godwin, he’s in a fantastic spot as Jaguars have been running a bunch of man coverage this year which is where his best games have come. Evans has had 8+ targets in 5 of his last 6 games so even when he’s not had a monster game this year he’s gotten the workload to provide him with those chances.
