Week 12 NFL DFS Quarterbacks (QB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Quarterback Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the QB position for each DFS week of the 2019-2020 NFL DFS season.

In this article, I am going to give you the top five quarterbacks in my personal model which uses a number of factors like Vegas total, match-up, salary, etc. Please note that just because a player is not in this article doesn’t mean that I don’t like them or that they are not in my player pool.

Last Weeks Results

Based off of DraftKings scoring

  1. Drew Brees (21.12 fantasy points, 3.1x value, QB10)
  2. Derek Carr (20.78 fantasy points, 3.4x value, QB11)
  3. Dak Prescott (34.56 fantasy points, 5.2x value, QB2)
  4. Kyle Allen (12.70 fantasy points, 2.4x value, QB19)
  5. Jimmy Garoppolo (34.66 fantasy points, 5.2x value, QB1)

Jeff Driskel ($7,300 FD, $5,500 DK)

Matt Stafford has not officially been ruled out for this week but I personally don’t see how the man plays with his injury. If Stafford is indeed out once again I am all over Driskel who has been an excellent fantasy play in his two previous starts thanks to his ability to run the ball. Driskel is averaging 44 rushing yards per game to go along with his 239 passing yards per game. Driskel has four total touchdowns with one rushing touchdown in those games and has produced at least 19 fantasy points in both games. Driskel should continue to put up big fantasy numbers this week against an average at best Redskins defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in fantasy points allowed per game to quarterbacks.

Baker Mayfield ($7,500 FD, $5,900 DK)

I am a big Mayfield hater but even I can admit that Mayfield is an excellent play this week at his salary as the Browns take on the Dolphins. The Dolphins have allowed the fourth-most passing touchdowns this season and are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Mayfield for as bad as he has been this season has also been serviceable as a fantasy quarterback the past three weeks with at least 17 fantasy points in each of those games.

Matt Ryan ($7,900 FD, $6,700 DK)

Ryan struggled in his first game back from injury against the Saints but looked like his old self last week against the Panthers. In that games, Ryan threw for 311 yards and a score on his way to 19.44 fantasy points. This week I am expecting a similar if not better performance from Ryan as the Falcons take on the Bucs at home. The Bucs are one of the best possible match-ups for quarterbacks. This season the Bucs are allowing the second-most passing yards per game, have allowed the second-most passing touchdowns, and have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to the position. If you are spending up at the quarterback position Ryan is the man you want.

Sam Darnold ($7,400 FD, $5,800 DK)

Darnold is not seeing ghosts anymore as he has two straight big games for the Jets. In those two games, Ryan is averaging 261.5 passing yards per game and has thrown five touchdown passes. Darnold has at least 21 fantasy points in each of those games. This week we should see another nice performance from Darnold as the Jets take on the Raiders. The Raiders are allowing the sixth-most passing yards per game, have allowed the third-most touchdown passes, and the sixth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. I do have one concern with Darnold that keeps him from being higher on this list and that is his lack of passing attempts. Darnold has only attempted 30 passes in each of the past two games and has only attempted more than 35 passes once since his return from injury.

Jameis Winston ($7,600 FD, $6,200 DK)

Winston has attempted at least 40 passes in five of his past six games and has at least 300 yards passing in seven of his past eight games. Winston has at least two touchdown passes in six of his past eight games. Winston can also get it done with his legs as he has at least 20 yards rushing in three of his past four games. Winston despite the match-up with might suddenly be bad and the turnovers is still one of the best fantasy quarterbacks you can have and I don’t see him not producing over 20 fantasy points for the eighth time in his past nine games this week.
