Welcome to the FC Insights Core Plays and Cheat Sheet Article for Yahoo (Nov 12, 2019).
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for Yahoo for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
Joseph is likely going to be the most popular player on this slate as he should start with De’Aaron Fox out and I am eating the chalk with Joseph tonight. Joseph played 28 minutes in the Kings last game due to the blowout victory and played well with a stat line of 9/4/4 with two blocks on his way to 24.8 fantasy points. That was the second straight game that Joseph produced at least 24 fantasy points and this season in the four games that he has played at least 18 minutes, Joseph is averaging 21 fantasy points. Joseph has not only played well when given the minutes which he should see plenty of tonight in Fox’s absence but the match-up with the Trail Blazers is an elite one. This season the Trail Blazers are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to point guards.
Barton is way too cheap tonight for the way he has played this season. In his seven games, Barton is averaging 14.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 steals+blocks. Barton has at least 29 fantasy points in six of those seven games and is averaging just above a fantasy point per minute this season. Tonight we should see Barton continue his strong start to the season as the Nuggets take on the Hawks. This season the Hawks are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to small forwards.
If for some reason Anthony Davis sits out tonight, James is easily the top play on this slate. As it is now Davis looks like he is going to play for the Lakers but even with Davis in the lineup I still love James. James is showing everyone he is still the best to ever do it and in his past five games, he has four triple-doubles. In those games, James is averaging 25.6 points, ten rebounds, 12.2 assists, and 2.4 steals+blocks. James has at least 52 fantasy points in four of those five games and is averaging 59.9 fantasy points during this stretch.
C-Nerlens Noel-$12 For Noel to be in play we need Steven Adams to be ruled out which is a great possibility as he is listed as questionable and has missed three games recently. In those three games that Adams has missed Noel has really stepped up averaging 12.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.7 steals+blocks. Noel has at least 30 fantasy points in each of those games and is averaging 1.20 fantasy points per minute this season. Noel is not just putting up big numbers with Adams out but the match-up is also one I love to target as the Pacers don’t rebound the ball well ranking 19th in team rebounding rate and struggle in stopping centers as they are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to the position this season.
UPDATE: SG-Bogdan Bogdanovic-$16
Since Noel’s stock takes a bit of a hit with Adams returning, let’s pivot our attention over to another King that is due for a major boost tonight. Bogdan-squared has a massive usage increase in the split (i.e. Fox off the floor), and Cory Joseph is not the kind of guy to take on the types of touches/shot opportunities that Fox’s absence will result in. Look for the very fairly-priced guard to see 30+ minutes and close to if not above 30% usage.
