Sharing core plays and a cheat sheet for the November 9, 2019 NBA DFS slate on FanDuel.
Welcome to our NBA Core Plays & Cheat Sheet column for FanDuel. We’ll be sharing this article with you for all key slates (2 games+) over the course of the 2019-2020 NBA season. Hope you enjoy!
Core Plays – Main Slate
PG – Luka Doncic, DAL @ MEM, $10,600
First thing’s first – with Kristaps Porzingis out, we’re going to see Luka doing some serious Luka things. Minutes and usage are going to funnel his way tonight – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Donic is having one heck of a start to his 2019-2020 season at only 20 years of age, holding a .604 TS% on 33.5% usage and has an elite 46% assist% in his 35.8 MPG thus far. With 28.1 PPG, 10.4 REB and 9.3 AST – he’s averaging nearly a triple-double per game right now and is a superior play in my eyes to Russell Westbrook even at a slight price premium.
Given the match-up has MEM who has been below averaging against all PG-SG-SFs this year (PG/SG in particular), he should destroy in this match-up and deliver another 50+ FP outing.
SF – Brandon Ingram, NOP @ CHA, $8,800
Even though he’s on the second half of a B2B after playing last night against the Raptors, he’s been other-worldly in 2019-2020 and still feels under-priced at $8,800. He’s averaging 26 FPPG so far this year on a really nice 52.7% FG% with 7.1 rebounds and just shy of 4.0 assists – and does plenty on the defensive side as well to round out the floor/ceiling combo.
The Hornets have struggled mightily against opposing SFs this year, where he’s a tremendous mismatch for how they stack up against one another. Look for him to have a very productive night once again and deliver a 40-45+ fantasy point night at minimum.
PG – Tyus Jones, MEM vs DAL, $4,400
Ja Morant’s absence tonight for the Grizzlies puts Jones in a plus minutes spot. There’s nothing too exciting about the DvP situation as the Mavs have been decent (just about average) against the position so far in 2019 through 9 games (47.1 FPPG against) – but let’s not forget what he was able to do when starting last season (albeit for a different club).
In 23 starts, he averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals+blocks in 32.4 minutes of action per game. Is he a big usage rate guy? No (15.4% in his 23 starts last year). But that’s not the way he gets the job done for DFS purposes. Tonight he probably is going to see 27-30 minutes and should be able to facilitate offensively and be active on the defensive side of the ball to deliver a plus ROI outing for a great price.
SF – Tim Hardaway Jr, DAL @ MEM, $3,700
We like Chandler Hutchison quite a bit on this slate as well, but for only $200 above site minimum, I have a hard time fading Hardaway at his position. Hardaway continues to play very consistent mid-20s minutes for the Mavs, and generally sees usage into the low to mid-20s as well. He’s eclipsed the 4.6 ROI mark in each of his last 5 games, and is as cheap as he’s been all season for only $3,700. Given how soft MEM has been on the defensive end to start the year, and struggling against PG-SG-SFs in particular – he should get plenty of chances with the second unit to do some damage.
