MLB Playoffs 2019 – DFS Strategy for the October 13, 2019 single game slate.
Breaking down some of the top plays and strategies for attacking the MLB Playoff DFS slate on FanDuel & DraftKings.
We only have one game tonight, with the Astros and Yankees playing game 2 of their 7 game set.
Paxton’s been far more hittable this year than Verlander in 2019, but the veteran righty was not at his best in his last start against the Rays and continues to be susceptible to the long ball.
In fact, both of these guys give up their fair share of mistakes – and it shouldn’t shock you if we see 3-4 home runs overall once all is said and done. As a result, I would skew exposure to guys with 20+ HR resumes (or potential) in order to maximize your potential bang for your buck on this single game slate.
Verlander has sub-.260 wOBAs in each split over the last 2 years, but allows 1.3+ HR/9 against both RHBs and LHBs.
Paxton has a .291+ wOBA against both types of hitters, with far more long flies to RHBs (1.47 per 9) than LHBs (0.75 per 9). RHBs are the better play here given the hard contact advantage – but it would not keep me away from sprinkling in Yordan Alvarez exposure given the LvL situation and lower projected ownership.
Some of the best skill splits dating back to the start of last year to speak of:
Overall, I feel that HOU bounces back after being silenced by Tanaka last night. Each team is good for 2-3 runs, so I would have exposure to both sides (skewing plus HOU between the two).
Best of luck out there!
Best of luck tonight!
