Welcome to the FC Insights Defensive Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the DST position for each DFS week of the 2019-2020 NFL DFS season.
In this article, I am going to give you the top three defenses in my personal model which uses a number of factors like Vegas total, match-up, salary, etc. Please note that just because a player is not in this article doesn’t mean that I don’t like them or that they are not in my player pool.
Last Weeks Results
Based off of DraftKings scoring
- Patriots (14.00 fantasy points, 3.3x value, DST2)
- Panthers (12.00 fantasy points, 4.6x value, DST4)
- Eagles (33.00 fantasy points, 8.9x value, DST1)
Redskins ($4,200 FD, $3,200 DK)
I don’t love the Redskins defense in general but this week they are a team that you are going to want exposure to as they take on the Dolphins. The Dolphins as you should know are just awful. This season the Dolphins are averaging a league-low 6.5 points per game, have allowed the fifth-most sacks with 18 and have nine giveaways on the season. Each defense that has faced the Dolphins this season has produced double-digit fantasy points and there really is no reason to believe the Redskins don’t hit that mark this week.
Ravens ($5,000 FD, $4,100 DK)
The Ravens defense has not been the force we are used to seeing from them but this is a get right game as they take on the Bengals. The Bengals offensive line is awful. This season they have allowed the fourth-most sacks with 20. The Bengals are also a turnover-prone team as one would expect with a quarterback that is always under pressure as they have ten total giveaways this season. The Ravens should rack up multiple sacks and turnovers this week and I would be really shocked if they did not produce double-digit fantasy points in this one.
Seahawks ($4,100 FD, $3,400 DK)
I was never a Baker Mayfield or Browns fan as all his success last season came in cupcake match-ups. Whenever the Browns faced a good defense Mayfield tended to struggle. That is what we have seen this season from Mayfield and the Browns and that is a big reason why I love the Seahawks this week. This season the Browns are averaging under 20 points a game with 18.4, have ten total giveaways, and have allowed 16 sacks. Three of the five defenses that have faced the Browns have produced at least nine fantasy points which is a mark that the Seahawks who are averaging 7.2 fantasy points per game this season should hit.
