Twins vs. Edwin Jackson (Projected total: 6.5)
Edwin Jackson finally had a bad start with the Tigers and remains my favorite pitcher to stack against in the majors. This season in his 11 appearances, Jackson has an ERA of 8.46, an HR/9 rate of 3.02 and WHIP of 1.88. Jackson is allowing hitters to slash .337/.404/.679 with a .440 wOBA and a 44.9% hard-hit rate. Jackson is not only my favorite pitcher to stack against but the Twins are one of my favorite teams to stack. This season the Twins have the fifth-highest team OPS, second-highest team ISO and fifth-highest team wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season.
Yesterday’s results- Phillies: 11 runs, 11 hits, 10 walks, 0 home runs
Value Stack DraftKings
Blue Jays vs. Felix Hernandez (Projected total: TBD)
King Felix is making his return off the 60-day IL and I have a feeling the Blue Jays are going to make him wish he was still on the IL. The Blue Jays have been one of the best hitting teams in the majors over the past month with the fourth-highest team ISO and sixth-highest team wRC+ and let’s face it Hernandez is not the great pitcher he use to be. Since the start of last season, Hernandez has a FIP of 5.23, a WHIP of 1.42, and an HR/9 rate of 1.7. Hitters are slugging .480 with a .351 wOBA and a 40.1% hard-hit rate against Hernandez during this time frame. What I love most about the Blue Jays tonight is their salaries. DraftKings really dropped the ball with them tonight as only two hitters are going to cost you over $4,000 in salary with only one of those hitters costing you over $4,500 in salary.
Yesterday’s results- Rays: 7 runs, 11 hits, 3 walks, 1 home run
Value Stack FanDuel
Cardinals vs. Chi Chi Gonzalez (Projected total: 5.2)
Chi Chi Gonzalez has made six appearances in his return to the majors and while he has not bee awful as he has only allowed more than three runs once in those appearances he has not been what I would say good. Gonzalez has an ERA of 5.87, a FIP of 6.57, and a WHIP of 1.57. Gonzalez walks a ton of batters with a walk rate of 10.9%, strikeouts few batters with a K rate of just 13.0% and struggles to keep the ball in the park with an HR/9 rate of 2.05. The Cardinals who have been hitting the ball really well over the past two weeks should be able to take full advantage of Gonazalez struggles as well as the struggles of the weak Rockies bullpen.
Yesterday’s results- Rangers: 3 runs, 4 hits, 1 walk, 1 home run
