FanDuel & DraftKings Expert WNBA DFS Cash Game & GPP Lineup Picks for Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
Daily fantasy basketball lineup advice, picks and plays (8/20) to help you win your WNBA DFS contests.
Let’s take a closer look at some plays for today’s contests with our “Fearsome 4” picks for the day’s slate.
Just like in the NBA it is important to follow the news when it comes to WNBA. While WNBA news is hard to come by at times there are a couple of good resources for news out there. One is Rotowire.com. While I am not a fan in general of Rotowire they are a great news source for WNBA injuries. They also will give you projected starting lineups and confirmed starting lineups which are really hard to come by. Another source I like to use is following the teams beat writers on Twitter.
Looking over the slates for the rest of the season it looks like for the most part they are going to be huge slates with at least three games in ten of the remaining 15 slates till the playoffs. With that in mind, we are going to switch things up. On the five slates that are two or fewer games, we will only be having a cheat sheet. On the larget slates, we will continue to have our Core Plays article but will be switching the format a bit. We will no longer be giving you players between the two sites and will give you out top value play of the slate which is a player under $5,000 on FanDuel and $6,000 on DraftKings or top two or three mid-tier players who are players between $5,000 and $7,000 on FanDuel and $6,000 and $9,000 on DraftKings and our top stud player of the slate. As always if you guys have any questions feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @zachsgotmoxy.
Astou Ndour, F, CHI ($5,000 FD/$4,700 DK)
Ndour is on the higher side of salary for value plays but is still your no doubt top value play on this slate. Ndour has started the past three games with Jantel Lavender out for the Sky and should start once again with Lavender still out. In those three games, Ndour is averaging six points, 8.7 rebounds, an assist and two blocks. Ndour has at least 17 fantasy points in each of those games and should hit that mark with ease tonight as she takes on a Dream team that allows the most rebounds and third most blocks per game this season.
Natalie Achonwa, F, IND ($6,100 FD/$6,900 DK)
I like Achonwa a lot better if Candice Dupree is out but I personally don’t think that is the case. With that being said Achonwa is still an elite play tonight as the Fever take on the Liberty. The Liberty allow the most points per game and fifth-most rebounds per game this season. Achonwa has also put up solid numbers against the Liberty this season with averages of 7.35 points, 3.5 rebounds, two steals+blocks and 18.2 fantasy points in their two meetings.
Kia Nurse, G, NYL ($5,300 FD/$7,000 DK)
Nurse has played at least 32 minutes in each of the past three games for the Liberty and played well with at least 18 fantasy points in each of those games. Tonight there is no reason to believe that Nurse doesn’t play heavy minutes once again or that she doesn’t put up solid numbers once again as the Fever are an awful defensive team. This season they allow the third-most points per game while also allowing the most assists per game.
Tina Charles, F, NYL ($7,500 FD/$9,900 DK)
There are three reasons why Charles is my favorite stud player on this slate. The first is her salary, Charles is very affordable compared to other stud players on this slate. Charles is the ninth most expensive player on FanDuel and sixth most expensive player on DraftKings. The second reason is due to the way she is playing. In her past six games, Charles has produced at least 35 fantasy points five times and is averaging 20.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.5 blocks+steals, and 38.3 fantasy points. The last reason is due to the match-up against the Fever. The Fever as I talked about don’t defend well at all and Charles has already played well against them with averages of 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in their prior two meetings.
