The Daily Four Pack – DraftKings MLB DFS Picks – July 7, 2019

Welcome to the Daily Four Pack where we share four core players on DraftKings that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

Pitcher to Target

Jose Urquidy-$6,000

The Angles are not a team I typically target pitchers against as they don’t strike out a lot but with that being said I really like Urquidy today. Urquidy is dirt cheap at only $6,000 in salary and is one of the Astros top pitching prospects. Urquidy had an ERA of 2.89 and a K/9 of 13.19 in his eight games at Triple-A this season and did not look bad in his first career start which came at Coors Field with four strikeouts and only two runs allowed in 3.2 innings. The Angels despite their lack of strikeouts are also not a horrible match-up for Urquidy as they don’t particularly hit lefties well. This season the Angels rank 19th in both team ISO and team wOBA against left-handed pitching.

Hitters to Target

2B-Robel Garcia-$2,200

If Garcia is in the Cubs lineup as he is projected to be he is going to be in my lineup as he is only $200 above the site minimum salary. Garcia is not only dirt cheap but he has looked good so far in his short career. Garcia only has ten plate appearances in the majors but in those apperances, he has three hits including a triple and home run and two walks. The switch-hitting Garcia is also in an elite match-up as he gets to take on Ivan Nova. Nova is a really bad pitcher at this point of his career, especially against left-handed hitting. Since the start of the 2014 season, Nova is allowing lefties to slash .309/.349/.517 with a .366 wOBA.

Yesterday’s Results: Robinson Cano 0.00 fantasy points

2B/3B-Mike Brosseau-$2,200

DraftKings has really dropped the ball with pricing today as Brosseau is another player that is only $200 above the site minimum salary. Like Robel Garcia Brosseau has also done nothing but hit since his call-up. In his seven games, Brosseau is slashing .409/.435/.727 with an ISO of .318 and a wOBA of .478. Brosseau has four doubles, a home run, five runs scored and five RBIs in those games. While James Paxton is a much better pitcher than Ivan Nova is he is not unhittable especially on the road where he is allowing hitters to slash .320/.380/.523 with a .380 wOBA this season.

Yesterday’s Results: James McCann 3.00 fantasy points

OF-J.D. Martinez-$4,700

Martinez is one of my favorite expensive hitters on this slate as he takes on the left-handed Gregory Soto. Martinez is simply one of the best in the business against left-handed pitching. Since the start of the 2017 season, Martinez has an OPS of 1.014, an ISO of .313 and a wOBA of .416 against lefties. Soto, on the other hand, is a really bad pitcher and in his brief career, he is allowing right-handed hitters to slash .329/.391/.632 with a .415 wOBA and a 47.7% hard-hit rate.

Yesterday’s Results: George Springer 6.00 fantasy points
