Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on Yahoo that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
In this article, I am going to give you three core plays that I am using in cash games for the main slate of games. This core will include a pitcher and two hitters. I will also give you a bonus play which will be my favorite expensive hitter normally over $20 in salary on this slate.
Pitcher to Target
P-Daniel Ponce de Leon-$35
I am going to pick on the awful Marlins offense once again as they just suck. The Marlins rank dead last in team ISO, next to last in team wOBA and have the fifth highest team K rate against right-handed pitching this season. The Marlins have really struggled against the Cardinals starters as they have allowed five of the past six Cardinals starters to face them over the past two weeks to produce over 20 fantasy points.
Yesterday’s Results: Mitch Keller 17.6 fantasy points
Hitters to Target
The weather is awful and the wind is blowing in but even with both of those factors against him, I love McCann tonight assuming this game is able to play as he gets to take on Jon Lester. Lester is one of the worst pitchers in baseball despite what people will tell you and allows a ton of hard contact, especially to right-handed hitters at 45.1%. McCann has been excellent all season long, has reached base safely in 16 of his past 17 games, and has an OPS of .884 and a wOBA of .381 against left-handed pitching this season.
Yesterday’s Results: Victor Caratini 0.0 fantasy points
Ramirez is way too cheap tonight for a couple of reasons. The first is he is starting to heat up after a slow start to the season with hits in five straight games including a home run last night. The second is the match-up against Joe Palumbo who allowed four runs in four innings in his only other previous start in the majors which is also his only start above Double-A in his career.
Yesterday’s Results: Lorenzo Cain 5.2 fantasy points
OF-Ronald Acuna Jr.-$24
Acuna Jr. is my favorite hitter on this slate as he is on fire. Acuna Jr. has hits in 16 of his previous 18 games with ten multi-hit games and six home runs in those games. Acuna Jr. is not just on fire but he also crushes left-handed pitching with an OPS of 1.016, an ISO of .229 and a wOBA of .422 against them in his career.
Yesterday’s Results: Anthony Rizzo 2.6 fantasy points
