Number of Games: 15
Teams with high projected run totals (5.0 or above): BOS (5.6), CLE (5.2), ATL (5.2), HOU (5.1), MIN (5.8), COL (TBD but will be over 5) SD (TBD but will be over 5), OAK (5.2)
Teams with low projected run totals (3.5 or below): ARI (3.3), LAA (3.1), TOR (3.0)
Games with weather concerns: KC @ MIN
Padres vs. Jeff Hoffman (Projected total: TBD)
I am not a big you must stack Coors guy but tonight is one of the nights that I feel you need to. The Padres are my favorite of the two teams to stack tonight as Jeff Hoffman is awful. Hoffman has made five starts this season and in those starts, he has allowed at least four runs in four of them. Hoffman also allows a lot of home runs with six already on the year to go along with a WHIP of 1.56. Now, I know five starts is not a large sample size but we do have a bigger history to show that Hoffman sucks especially at Coors as he has pitched on and off in the majors since 2016. If we look at his career numbers at Coors we will see that he has a FIP of 5.24, an HR/9 of 1.5 and a WHIP of 1.72 which are all numbers we like to attack.
Yesterday’s Results: Yankees 4 runs, 9 hits, 2 walks, 1 home run
Reds vs. Jesse Chavez (Projected total: TBD)
The Reds have one expensive hitter in Nick Senzel but other than that are cheap on both sites and stand out to me as the best value stack on the slate as they take on what is a bullpen game for the Rangers. This season the Rangers bullpen has the 11th highest HR/9 rate at 1.41, fifth highest FIP at 4.82 and tenth highest WHIP at 1.46. Now, the Reds do carry a lot of risks even with the excellent match-up tonight as they are the coldest team in the majors but I would be surprised if they did not break their cold streak tonight.
Yesterday’s Results: Dodgers 7 runs, 11 hits, 3 walks, 4 home runs
Twins vs. Brad Keller (Projected total: 5.8)
Anytime the Twins are on a slate they have to be on your radar as they have been that damn good. This season the Twins have hit the most home runs, score the most runs, rank first in ISO and first in wOBA. The Twins even with putting up those kinds of numbers always seem to be under-owned and are likely to be under-owned again tonight due to the match-up with Brad Keller. Keller due to a good sinker doesn’t allow a lot of home runs and has had two great starts in a row but is really not that good of a pitcher. For the season he has an xFIP of 4.96, a K rate of just 15.6% and a WHIP of 1.38.
Yesterday’s Results: N/A
