The Daily Hitting Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings MLB DFS Lineup Stacks for May 16, 2019

The Hitting Rundown: Featuring stacks to target for the FanDuel & DraftKings MLB DFS slate on May 16, 2019 (5/16).

We have a split slate today with four games on the Early Slate, with five games on the Main Slate – which starts at 6:40pm EST.  Today, we’ll break down our top stack for each slate, in hopes that it provides you with some insight when building your MLB DFS line-ups for today’s action!

Top Stack – Early Slate

Royals vs. Lance Lynn (Projected total: 5.3)

Lynn has pitched better than his 5.48 ERA suggest, however – he can be victim to the long-ball, and faces a Royals line-up that has some intriguing options to stack against him today.  His only start in his last four outings where he held the opposing hitters from being fantasy relevant was against Seattle, with the other three games including a 3 HR outing by the Astros last time out, the lowly Jays bats putting up 5 runs on him, and getting tuned up by Oakland for 8 ER over 3.1 innings.  The big bats for the Royals come with high enough price tags that I think it will help keep their ownership levels in check – but I like the idea of stacking KC this afternoon against a very hittable arm.

Yesterday’s Results: Astros 5 runs, 8 hits, 5 walks, 1 home run

Top Stack – Main Slate

Twins vs. Erik Swanson (Projected total: 4.75)

There is some weather risk here, so make sure that the game is a go before stacking here.  With that said, the risk can help drive down ownership levels on a Twins stack, and I like the spot they are in against the young Swanson.  If he had any question marks through the minor leagues, it was the longball, and so far in his 28.1 IP, it has posed a problem, allowing 2.22 HR/9 so far in a small MLB sample size.  The Twins are raking right now, and I love the spot they are in tonight for a full fledged stack against a young arm.

If the game gets post-poned, or if you don’t want to tempt fate with a stack with the weather concerns, the Braves, and Reds are my favourite options.

Yesterday’s Results: Nats 5 runs, 9 hits, 2 walks, 1 home run
