Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on Yahoo that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
In this article, I am going to give you three core plays that I am using in cash games for the main slate of games. This core will include a pitcher and two hitters. I will also give you a bonus play which will be my favorite expensive hitter normally over $20 in salary on this slate.
Pitcher to Target
Rodriguez is way too cheap on Yahoo tonight for the way he is pitching. Rodriguez has pitched at least six innings in three of his past four starts with only two runs allowed in those three starts. Rodriguez has at least 24 fantasy points in each of those starts. Rodriguez is not just pitching well and is cheap but I love the match-up for him as he faces the Rockies away from Coors. The Rockies always struggle on the road and this season they have the third lowest team wOBA and third highest team K rate in road games.
Yesterday’s Results: Noah Syndergaard 30.6 fantasy points
Hitters to Target
Diaz is starting at second base with Jose Altuve out and has been crushing the ball. In his four starts since Altuve’s injury, Diaz has seven hits with three home runs and ten RBIs. Diaz has produced in double-digit fantasy points in each of those starts and is likely to have another big game tonight as he takes on a pitcher in Gregory Soto who allowed seven runs in just four innings in his major league debut.
Yesterday’s Results: Robinson Chirinos 2.6 fantasy points
I love Mike Soroka as a pitcher and normally don’t target hitters against him. With that being said this is a great buy-low chance on Carpenter who is a lot better than he has shown this season, especially against right-handed pitching. Just last season, Carpenter had an OPS of .930, an ISO of .280 and a wOBA of .385 against righties.

I already talked about how Gregory Soto struggled in his first career start. What I did not mention was he was left-handed and that makes the smoking hot Springer easily your top hitter on this slate. Springer has reached base safely multiple times in ten of his past 11 games and has seven home runs with 18 runs scored and 15 RBIs in those games. Springer is also a known lefty killer and this season he has an OPS of 1.258, an ISO of .447 and a wOBA of .509 against left-handed pitching.
Yesterday’s Results: Nicolas Castellanos 4.5 fantasy points
