Our experts share 3 core player picks for January 12, 2019, NBA DFS slate (free daily column).
Donovan Mitchell (UTA) vs. CHI
Mitchell was a must play for me last night as I talked about in this article yesterday and he came through for us big time with 33 points, four rebounds, and nine assists on his way to 57.3 fantasy points. That was Mitchell’s third time in his past four games producing at least 49 fantasy points. Tonight I expect Mitchell to continue his elite play as the Jazz are still down the same four guards they were yesterday. Mitchell is also once again in an elite match-up as he takes on a Bulls team that ranks in the bottom ten in fantasy points allowed per game and defensive efficiency to guards.
Royce O’Neale (UTA) vs. CHI
O’Neale is another player that benefited from all of the guard injuries that the Jazz are dealing with as last night he got the start and played 39 minutes. O’Neale didn’t just play a ton of minutes but he also played well with 17 points and seven rebounds on his way to 30.9 fantasy points. While I am not sure if O’Neale can put up 30 plus fantasy points again tonight he should easily pay off his dirt cheap salary on both sites.
Josh Jackson (PHO) vs. DEN
Devin Booker is doubtful to play tonight and I am going to assume he is out. With Booker out, Jackson becomes one of the best values on the board as normally gets the start in Booker’s place. Jackson will not only get the start and the extra minutes that go along with it but he normally produces in this spot as he has the past three games. In those games with Booker playing a total of 12 minutes, Jackson is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and 33.7 fantasy points.
