Welcome to the Core Four where we share four core players on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for NFL DFS contests on week 17 for the 2018-2019 season.
In this article, I will be giving you four players to target in your cash game lineups for FantasyDraft for your NFL weekly lineups. These picks will come from the main slate of games and are similar to the articles that I write for MLB and NBA. If you guys or gals have any questions feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @zachsgotmoxy.
Last Week Recap
Robby Anderson and Christian McCaffrey were home runs for us last week as both players were in the top two scoring at their position. Dak Prescott was not awful for us but he was not great and only produced 16 fantasy points. We had the right idea with targeting the Rams backup running back against the Cardinals. Unfortunately, the article was written before C.J. Anderson was announced as the starter so we have to take a big L on our John Kelly pick.
While I think the Jets would be smart to sit Darnold to lose on purpose as the Jets have almost pulled out their past two games out after beating the Bills in return from injury they seem content on letting Darnold show what he can do. That makes Darnold one of my favorite players this week as Darnold has been excellent in his past two starts. In those games, Darnold has thrown for 594 yards and five touchdowns while producing at least 21 fantasy points in each of those games. Call me crazy but I expect Darnold to have similar production this week against their division rival Patriots who badly need to win this week.
Running Back-C.J. Anderson-$12,100-LAR
While the Rams must win this week I think they are going to give Todd Gurley another week off and that means we can go right back to targeting their backup who is C.J. Anderson, not John Kelly. Anderson had 20 carries last week and saw two targets while Kelly had ten carries and only saw one target. Anderson not only out snapped and out-touched Kelly but man did he look good with 167 rushing yard and a score on his way to 26.2 fantasy points. While I don’t know if Anderson can have that kind of production again this week he should still have a big game against a 49ers team that is allowing the tenth most fantasy points per game to running backs this season. If Gurley does end up playing there are plenty of running backs in Anderson’s salary range that we can easily pivot too like Chris Carson, Damien Williams, or even Jamaal Williams.
Wide Receiver-Robby Anderson-$11,600-NYJ
I am all in on Anderson once again this week as he has looked that good the past three weeks with Sam Darnold who I talked about earlier under center. In the past three games with Darnold back, Anderson has been targeted 31 times and has turned those targets into 20 catches for 312 yards and three scores. Anderson has produced at least 17 fantasy points in each of those games and though the match-up with Stephon Gilmore and the Pats is not a great one I don’t see Anderson slowing down this week.
Wide Receiver- Davante Adams-$15,000-GB
Adams has been the most consistent wide receiver in the NFL this season as he has at least 80 yards receiving or a touchdown in every game. While those numbers make Adams a top choice every week they are not why I want to roster him this week. The reason why I want to roster Adams is how close he is to the Packers single season receiving record by 134 yards and all reports have stated they are going to force feed him the ball to have him break the record.
