Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Friday, August 10, 2018.
If you are new to this article or forgot the format in this article I will give you a pitcher, infielder, and outfielder I am going to building my lineups around regardless of salary.
Pitcher to Target
Eflin has been fantastic this season with a FIP of 3.86, a WHIP of 1.11 and a K rate of 22.5%. In his 15 starts, Eflin has produced at least 17 fantasy points nine times including in seven of his past nine starts. Tonight we should see Eflin produce that many fantasy points once again as he is in an elite match-up against the Padres. The Padres have been the hottest team in baseball over the past week of play but for the season they rank 29th in team ISO, team OPS and team wOBA against right-handed pitching while being tied for the highest team K rate at 25.7%. When you factor in salary, Eflin is by far my top pitcher on this slate and I am all in on him tonight.
Infielder to Target
All Torres has done since being called up to the majors is crush left-handed pitching. In his 77 career games, Torres has an OPS of .961, an ISO of .278 and a wOBA of .400 against lefties. Torres should continue to have success tonight as the lefty he is facing is a pitcher I love to pick on in Mike Minor. Minor is a bad pitcher who really struggles on the road against right-handed hitting as he is allowing them to slash .303/.357/.563 with a .384 wOBA in those situations.
Outfielder to Target
Jacob Nix is going to make his first career start for the Padres tonight and as we saw with Brett Kennedy the other night first career starts don’t normally go to well no matter how good the pitcher is or how good the match-up is. Nix is not only making his first career start but he is also right-handed and I love to target Williams against right-handed pitching. In his short career, Williams has an OPS of .819, an ISO of .212 and a wOBA of .347 against right-handed pitching. Williams is also hitting the ball well right now with two home runs in his past five games and hits in 11 of his past 16 games. At his salary, Williams is one of my favorite one-off players on this slate.
