Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on FantasyDraft that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
If you are new to this article or forgot the format in this article I will give you a pitcher, infielder, and outfielder I am going to building my lineups around regardless of salary.
Pitcher to Target
I really like the way Freeland is pitching right now as he has five straight quality starts. In those games, he has an ERA of 1.59, a WHIP of 0.91 and a K rate of 24.6%. Freeland has produced at least 15 fantasy points in each of those games and has at least 23 fantasy points in four of the five including in three straight games. Freeland is not just pitching well but I like the match-up for Freeland as he takes on a Dodgers team that has not hit left-handed pitching well this season at all. The Dodgers rank in the bottom five in team wOBA, team ISO, team wRC+ and team OPS against them.
Infielder to Target
The White Sox are being forced to start Dylan Covey once again tonight and that is great news if you are an Orioles fan as Covey is an awful pitcher. In his short career, Covey has a FIP of 6.92, a WHIP of 1.67 and an HR/9 rate of 2.37. Covey struggles with hitters from both sides of the plate with an edge to the right-handed hitters as he is allowing them to slash .325/.410/.619 with a .429 wOBA. While I like all of the Orioles on this slate Schoop is my favorite of the bunch as he is not only very affordable but has been consistent. Since coming off the DL on May 8th Schoop has scored fantasy points in all but two games.
Outfielder to Target
All Meadows has done since being called up to the majors is hit. In his four games, he has six hits with two home runs in each of the past two games, two runs, three RBIs, and a stolen base. Tonight I don’t see Meadows slowing down as he finds himself in an elite match-up against Homer Bailey. Bailey is one of the worst pitchers in baseball and really struggles against left-handed hitting allowing them to slash .290/.362/.615 with a .400 wOBA this season. I am going to call my shot with Meadows tonight and say that he reaches double-digit fantasy points for the fourth time since being called up.
