Let’s take a closer look at some FanDuel plays for today’s contests with our “Fearsome 4” picks for the day’s slate.
WNBA is here for DFS sports and I couldn’t be more pumped. For those of you looking for a sport other than baseball to play during the summer, WNBA is the perfect bridge sport until football starts.
The scoring is the exact same as NBA. The only changes that I can see are with the rosters as in WNBA you have to play three guards and four forwards. This article is going to give you our four favorite plays of each WNBA slate regardless of position. We are going to give you our top player, mid-tier player, value player and GPP option for each slate.
With that said, let’s dive right in and have a look at our recommendations for the day:
Top Play – Candace Parker, LA, F
This is a huge slate and there are a ton of stud players to choose from. You cannot go wrong with many of the stud forwards on this slate. With that being said if you made me pick just one of the big name players on this slate which you are, Parker is the woman I want. Parker has been great all season long for the Sparks and has really stepped her game up as of late with at least 30 fantasy points in 13 of her past 15 games. Not only is Parker playing really well right now but I love the match-up with the Dream. The Dream has been one of the weaker teams in the WNBA in allowing fantasy points to forwards and this season they are allowing the fifth most fantasy points per game to the position. Parker had a great game against them earlier in the season as well with 21/13/5 on her way to 45.1 fantasy points. With this being a game the Sparks need to win to try to keep pace with the Lynx for home court in the playoffs I am expecting Parker to dominate once again tonight.
Mid-Tier Play – Maya Moore, MIN, F
I really hate talking about Moore every time the Lynx play but I cannot help myself as she is just too cheap in my eyes. Yes, Moore has been inconsistent but she is still one of the best players in the WNBA. Moore has also been really good as of late with at least 30 fantasy points in three of her past five games. The match-up with the Sky is also one you want to exploit as this season they have allowed the most fantasy points per game to the position.
Value Play – Chelsea Gray, LA, G
I really like the consistency that Gray brings to the table tonight. Gray has produced at least 20 fantasy points in ten straight games. In those games, Gray has produced at least 25 fantasy points six times and over 30 fantasy points four times so the upside is also there with Gray. The Dream is also a great matchup for Gray as they allow the second most fantasy points per game to guards. Now there is some blowout risk involved with this pick as the Sparks are huge favorites but I personally think this game will be close. I like Gray to continue her great play tonight and to produce over 25 fantasy points.
GPP Play– Courtney Vandersloot, CHI, G
This is a risky spot to use Vandersloot at tonight as the Lynx is one of the best defensive teams in the WNBA. With that being said there are few players on this slate that have the upside of Vandersloot due to Vandersloot’s ability to put up stats across the board. I also like the fact that Vandersloot is likely to be less than 15% owned on this slate due to the match-up and fact that it is a large slate. This is a huge boom or bust pick but I am going to call my shot and say that Vandersloot is not only the highest scoring guard on this slate but one of the top five highest scoring players period.
