Free daily fantasy basketball lineup advice, picks and plays (8/25) to help you win your WNBA DFS contests.
Let’s take a closer look at some FanDuel plays for today’s contests with our “Fearsome 4” picks for the day’s slate.
WNBA is here for DFS sports and I couldn’t be more pumped. For those of you looking for a sport other than baseball to play during the summer, WNBA is the perfect bridge sport until football starts.
The scoring is the exact same as NBA. The only changes that I can see are with the rosters as in WNBA you have to play three guards and four forwards. This article is going to give you our four favorite plays of each WNBA slate regardless of position. We are going to give you our top player, mid-tier player, value player and GPP option for each slate.
With that said, let’s dive right in and have a look at our recommendations for the day:
Top Play – Jonquel Jones, CON, F
I really don’t see how Jones is not the anchor of your lineups tonight. Jones is just too good and the match-up too excellent for me to pass her over. In her past eight games, Jones is averaging 17.88 points, 13.13 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks+steals. Jones has produced at least 35 fantasy points in all but one of those games and in the one game, she didn’t produce that amount of fantasy points she played limited minutes as the Sun blew out the Liberty. The Sky like I hinted at is a great match-up as this season they are allowing the most fantasy points per game to forwards. Jones should easily hit the 35 fantasy point mark once again tonight and I would be shocked if she wasn’t one of the top two scoring players on this slate.
Mid-Tier Play – Krystal Thomas, WAS, F
There are not a lot of great mid-tier options on this slate but Thomas stands out to me. Thomas has really stepped up her game with Elena Delle Donne out and in those six games, Thomas has produced at least 23 fantasy points five times and has reached the 30 fantasy point mark three times. The match-up with the Liberty is one that scares me a bit as they have allowed the least amount of fantasy points per games to forwards this season but not enough to move me off of Thomas. Thomas was able to produce at least 18 fantasy points in both of their meetings this season and one of those games EDD was in the lineup. This may be a gut call but I think Thomas hits at least 24 fantasy points tonight and at her salary that is all we can really ask for.
Value Play – Jia Perkins, MIN, G
Perkins is the only Lynx player I am not worried about when it comes to the blowout risk associated with them tonight. With Lindsay Whalen out Perkins should play in the mid to upper 20s regardless of the score. Perkins has shown throughout this season that when she plays over 20 minutes she is going to produce as she has at least 16 fantasy points in six of the seven games she has played that number of minutes this season. I don’t expect that to change tonight against the Stars and if you are looking for a cheap guard Perkins is the player I would use tonight.
GPP Play– Kristi Toliver, WAS, G
Toliver has back-to-back huge games for the Mystics with at least 18 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. In both of those games, Toliver was able to produce at least 30 fantasy points. I think Toliver can have a similar type out put tonight but the match-up scares me tonight and that is why I have Toliver as a GPP only play. The Liberty on paper are a good match-up for Toliver as they rank in the bottom half of the WNBA in fantasy points allowed per game to guards but Toliver has really struggled against them this season. In their two meetings, Toliver has failed to score above ten fantasy points in either game. The only thing that is working in Toliver’s favor was the Mystics were at close to full strength in both of those games and as you may know they are far from full strength especially at the guard position currently. There is risk with Toliver tonight but I am going to follow my gut and I am playing Toliver across the board.
